Tudor S&G Models Plating Status
Anyone here have real world feedback and maybe pics of how the plating is holding up?
Thanks in advance. |

dont have any personal experience- but by how the forums are....if there were any problems with the capped gold, i think it would be hard to miss.

It's thicker than just plating, I think you can even lightly polish it once or twice.

It's not gold electro-plating and yes it's holding up really good. In fact, mine is over 2 years old and I just had the bracelet refinished. No sign of losing any gold at all.
Here's a photo I took when it was new showing the thickness of the gold. And the other one showing how it looks now after having the bracelet refinished. Sent from my Mi MIX 2S using Tapatalk |

On the black bay the end links are solid gold the rest of the watch bracelet .bezel and crown is a thin slice of gold bonded onto the stainless steel. which can be polished as said above. It is not plated

I think they call it gold filled ! Thicker than plating but not solid either. I have a very old police badge stamped GF and the thickness of the gold looks like like the Tudor.

I have owned several and had no issues. My AD took one on trade and it was rough but it was restored to like new condition. I like them.

I like the fact that the gold is brushed as well. Nice looking bracelet.

Given the watch has only been available for a bit over two years that's not possible I I'm afraid.
I was one of the first in Hong Kong to have the S&G on the wrist, I ordered it through my AD on the day it was announced. Sent from my Mi MIX 2S using Tapatalk |
