Purchased a BB58 as I was told it would not be likely that I could get a Submariner given no purchase history etc. Long story short, a different AD came through with a Sub and the BB58 has seen zero wear.

The watches are very different, with the Sub giving a much more modern vibe with the ceramic bezel. I only have space for one dive watch in my collection and the Sub is it - you will definitely miss the glidelock!

Having worn the BB58 everyday, all day for almost a year, I don't think it is the 'perfect watch' for my lifestyle when compared with the Sub. The rose gold accents on the aluminium bezel are just a little too much with the gilt dial, although the red triangle is a nice touch. The faux rivet bracelet is also a little too much, and I could not get along with the clasp (it would often pop open even though the safety was still on - hard to explain).

YMMV, but keep the Sub and wait for either new colour options to be released, or stick it out like I am for a BB58 GMT!

The BB58 has a more modern movement than the current Sub. The upgrade on the Sub is overdue.

I had a bb 58 and liked it a lot, especially on a nato. I then bought a sub c and sold the bb. I would have liked to have kept it as a watch to wear cycling and on cycling trips as I don't wear an oyster bracelet cycling because of wrist mass. But, I have other watches on natos to wear cycling and the bb seemed a bit too nice and valuable to use as a beater. Thus, I let it go. It is a nicely made, well designed and comfortable watch and I could certainly see having it along with a sub.

Not a BB58 but I had the 41mm. Loved that watch but when I got my sub - I found myself reaching for it over the black bay.

They could exist together in a collection but I couldn't justify both if them given the above

Does the 58 fit into this collection or should I move the Sub? Just like to see what you guys/gals think.
If you REALLY REALLY want the 58, then sell the Explorer. or if you keep the Explorer, then get the 58 on leather, lest you have 3 SS black dial bracelet sport watches.

I actually preferred my BB58 over my Sub date.
