1610 Sub servicing
Morning all,
Just have a couple of questions as the trusty Sub is due a service. 1 - I had a little accident with it a while ago and the clasp got bent and no longer stays closed. All links are fine, but the clasp will need bending back into shape or replacing. Would Rolex include that as part of the service or would it be an extra charge? 2 - Shall I take to Rolex themselves or a local dealer? I've previously just dropped it at the dealer, but never known if there's a mark up for doing this. I'm UK based by the way and work in London, can go to Rolex directly without too much trouble. Incidentally, although it'll be serviced, I request they don't polish the case as I like the patina it's developing. Cheers, D. |

Rolex will probably replace the clasp with NOS.
I don’t believe there is any markup for dropping off at Rolex VS AD. Either way affiliated with Rolex. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It depends on the damage, if slightly bent out of shape on an old 16610 bracelet it can be corrected, if not as said above they will recommend the clasp be replaced.
Personally I prefer to drop off at the RSC, as they then communicate with you direct, whereas if you drop off at an AD, the RSC will communicate between them and you. For info as I understand of another thread St James' is closed for refurbishment, so you would need to drop off at West Malling. Good luck |

Regarding the clasp, if it's not that bad it can easily be bent back. Bending the clasp is actually one of the ways to fix a loose stamped clasp. |

OK thanks for the feedback all.
Kent isn't somewhere I can easily get to - I'm trying to find out how long St James is shut for as I can hang the service out until after Christmas. Cheers, David. |
