Collection Advice

Woah! Great collection with awesome variety!

You brainstorming for ideas? Here’s a few to throw at ya. A Rolex Milgauss z-blue, a Rolex Submariner, or A Lange & Sohne zeitwerk, and lastly a AP Royal Oak.

Happy hunting whatever you decide to get!

I'd get a Patek. There are some - 5524G Pilot Travel Time - that wear large and are under the radar as far as celebrities are concerned. I tried one on and it was too big for my puny wrist but looks gorgeous. I hear you can buy from greys for under MSRP.

You have a lot of pieces on a strap, so I’d say metal bracelet needed. You have a lot of white metal, so you need either RG or YG. Your dials are all black or white so you need color.

So I would say a rose gold AP Royal Oak with blue dial would fit best with the above while keeping the overall collection in balance.

Agree with something on bracelet. Have a good look at the new offerings from Grand Seiko. Simply amazing for the price point.

I like the Lange suggestion and LOVE the AP. From what I understand AP tough to get at MSRP without a “relationship”

I know purist didn’t love the Travel Time initially. I think it is absolutely stunning! Didn’t realize it was possible to get under MSRP. Would love to pick one up.

Can these be had from AD as MSRP? I don’t have an AP in state. Thanks!

I have walked into the boutique at crystals on the strip. They are very friendly and accommodating. Whenever you’re over in Vegas just stop by.

I would go Sub Date, SD43, or maybe a BLNR or something like that.

We just got a Grand Seiko AD! I agree about what you get for price point. I love the Snowflake dial but not sure how I feel about titanium. Do you have a favorite? Thanks!

No Jaeger-LeCoultre? If you want a classic collection, you need to add a Reverso! Look at the Night and Day. I own it and love it.

Orange Omega PO 42mm or classic orange Doxa 1200. Or go Japanese and get an orange Seiko Samurai.

You need some color. The new BLNR with jubilee would be a perfect fit.

I really appreciate the diversity of your collection. I would think a Speedy would be an interesting addition, and with the Tokyo Olympic releases there are some great looking Speedies on the market right now.

That is a truly great collection with great variety! Very good suggestions from fellow members as well.

In order to finalize the collection I'd look at the following two:
- A classic dress watch (think PP Calatrava or Cartier Tank)
- PM on bracelet such as Daytona 116528 Paul Newman

Could also go with a 116610 LV to add a splash of color :)

I just recently picked up a SBGJ201, a high-beat gmt with an amazing dial. The pics online do nothing for it. Initially i had gone into the AD for a different GS, but when I saw it in the case, and that dial, love at first sight. Plus i love GMTs! The case thickness is 14mm, but it wears thinner than a 14, more like a 12.5. It fits in nicely with my 16710 and 116710LN. https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgj201g

I tried on the snowflake. It was very beautiful, but the Ti is just too light for me.

Spring drives are a technical feat. If you haven't yet, read up on them. I had a huge misconception about them before I did. I will def add one to my collection at some point.

Drop in and take a peek. Their new "seasons" collection is interesting. Im eyeing the "autumn" and "winter" ones. The dials GS puts out are simply amazing.

I couldn’t agree more. Was waiting to see what they were going to do with the 50th anniversary.

Agreed! Looking at picking up this classic! I’m a big fan of the chronograph function and the Moonwatch is arguably the quintessential chrono.

Thank you! I really like the appearance of the Tank but can’t remember if they are quartz? Calatrava is simply classic and belongs in every collection. Thanks for your input!

I like the idea of BLRO. Wasn’t sure if it would be Rolex overkill. Patek stainless is ideal but very difficult to get at MSRP. Thanks!

I'm with Nick. Z Blue would be a nice addition. Of course can'g go wrong with any Lange or an APRO.
