Having had both, the choice for me is the 5711 (I had the blue).

On paper and in pics, the 15202 could be the winner but on the wrist, the 5711 is visually much more compelling in my experience. Though both wear exceptionally well, the 15202 is a superior fit on my wrist over the 5711, that is not the case for some with smaller wrists.

And, I prefer industrial/masculine aesthetics > softer/feminine design of the 5711.
Softer/feminine and more elegant design is exactly why I went 5711. What's wrong w me... LOL...

I don't mind industrial aesthetics but prefer that for a true tool watch that can take a beating and still look good which the 15202 is not IMHO.

Guess it’s all subjective but the 202 bracelet is a bit more blingy imho vs the 5711 which has a more organic quality, hardly feminine imho.

I’d go with the 5711. While I love the 15202, it’s hard to justify buying a 15202 when I already have a 15400 blue dial, which i prefer the size of. 15202 is classic and I can appreciate it, but not for me.

Also , I love the white dial 5711 far more than the blue. Since my 15400 is a blue dial I’d probably get the white dial 5711

I go for both as well. I'm so excited to get a 15202 soon somehow...I'm like 24/7 working on that case currently :)

I appreciate both - but if I had to choose just one I’m an AP man through and through.

I actually never liked or was interested in AP. Then the Nautilus ridiculousness and treatment by a few ADs really tarnished Patek for me and I began to open my aperture and explore AP. After trying on my first Royal Oak... I got “it.” Now here I am with two Royal Oaks, having owned three total at one point, and am looking to acquire my fourth. I will stick with Patek for dress watches and AP for sports watches leaving me with a nice blend of both houses....I won’t hesitate to buy a Nautilus on bracelet if I get a call, but won’t pay over MSRP.

Also, I love how there is near limitless room for upgrading within the Royal Oak line up to an eventual Royal Oak Tourbillon. I was disappointed to learn there is no Nautilus Tourbillon equivalent.

Good point about upgrading the Royal Oak. Love what AP is doing with the perpetual line. There are a few Royal Oaks that I want but the situation is similar to Patek. Can’t get the ones I want.

15202bc all the way! Although a 5712 is hard to say no.

No way would I trade my 15202 for a 5711 white dial.

I would have to see the blue dial 5711 in person to decide if I would give up my 15202 for it.

15202 owner here.....don't own a 5711 yet but you'd have to pry my 15202st from my dead lifeless fingers before I let that one go. I think I'd probably take it over a 5711 blue dial, and definitely would go 15202 over 5711 white dial. All gorgeous pieces though ;)

With complications, Patek over AP. Without complications, AP over Patek.
