Fun at Watch Time New York (lots of pics)

Went with my kids to Watch Time NY today. It was my first time and loved the experience. All the watches were accessible and the manufacturers were happy to discuss their watches at length. I learned quite a bit about resonance from Armin Strom, why MBF believe they have the best perpetual calendar in the market (when you attempt to change date at a time your not supposed to the movement disengages and does not allow you to make the change thereby safeguarding the movement), spoke to a Lange & Sohne watchmaker who worked on the Zeitwerk and we discussed the constant force feature and the difficulty of getting the numbers to line up perfectly (because the discs always have some play) etc. Even took a photograph with Tim Mosso after discussing the unfortunate troubles in Hong Kong etc. (for the first time in many years the US became a bigger market for Swiss watches than Hong Kong) and how much he loved the steel Octofinisimo I was wearing (apparently he recently posted a review of the steel on Instagram). Nice guy, when I thanked him for taking a photograph with me his reply was "thank you for making my job possible." Watchbox seems to be exploding, he is traveling from one country to another for the next weeks.
Anyway, I highly recommend this event next year to anyone who may be in the Tri-State area.

I plan on doing so, I walked by it on the way to ALS a couple of weeks ago but had no time to drop in. They had the Overseas in the window!

Thanks for the pics! I wanted to attend but my wife called my bluff and offered to go with me which meant she would then know how much my watches cost. Strategically went to the windup event instead, sucks to miss it but I think it will be worth it down the road

Lots of watches that look good on your wrist....a dangerous outcome.
