V Series Sea Dweller Question(s)

I'll confess... I'm thinking hard about picking up a V-series Sea Dweller.

Before I go into town, stalking ADs and having dreams about owning this piece, I'd like to ask if Rolex still supplied the Sea Dweller with the bracelet tool?

I've seen the Z and M and now V series advertised on the used/grey market always with the run line that they would be sold minus the tool kit. If I have the chance to get one from an AD still, should it come with a bracelet tool??

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've tracked one down at an AD nearby, so will be checking it out very very soon.

If that doesn't work out, then maybe I'll look into alternative possibilities.

Thanks Steve,

The Polaris is a safe queen

Need something to replace the P series Sub Date of mine which has attained 'vintage' status, so the SD would be perfect.

Oh why did I wait till now???

Update...

After reading one of the FS posts about how 'there are still rich men' out there, I decided that I'm not rich after all. I found an SD at an AD this afternoon, and although the price is at a premium over the local MRSP, it is lower than the MRSP in the US. I decided though, not to buy the watch for the following reasons:

1. My SubDate still works well, although it has no lume. That's fine, for night dives, I'd just use my Seiko Orange Monster instead.

2. I'm not rich, and have way too many watches already.

3. For the money, I could fund dive trips for the next 3 years.

4. I'll just wait for the price to drop on the used market, which I suspect it will.

Good for you Lee, from what you have stated here, you made a wise decision.

Dont let the tool kit be the defining value to buy the watch. Buy the watch. The Sd is bullet proof and ten feet tall

ZAK98,

I was under the impression no SD has the rolexrolex. But I'm sure the pros can chime in.

But Para, given my nature as someone who values completeness of a set, especially watches, I don't think it's fair to pay almost full retail on the second hand or grey market for incomplete sets.

It'll be like buying a value meal at MacD's and walking away with no fries... or something like that...

.... I think

Cortina.

They wanted about 3 - 4K over.

If one is available at MRSP, at an AD, I could still be interested.

I found out the last list price. A local AD wants RM2k above list and they have the V series now.
