I did graduate college but this ring is special. You can only get it while an active member and if it’s lost or stolen the company will not replace it.

Oh and my Brother In Law graduated from the USAFA. Class of 79. A-10 pilot after. Bonus points if you know what this means. His class motto. "LCWB."

When I was home for Christmas I asked him why he doesn't wear his Academy ring. I mean what an accomplishment just getting accepted into a service academy. His answer, "I don't know its around here somewhere, I haven't seen it in years." WTF. He should wear it with pride. Congratulations to you sir on graduating from Annapolis. Major respect.

Gajin I can so relate. 54 men started my Aviation Officer Candidate class in 1984. 41 earned a commission as an Officer and The final result was 28 eventually earned their Navy Wings as pilots. Very close to 50% attrition. I remember the obstacle course. It was only three minutes long, the first minute I was afraid I was going to die, the second minute I was afraid I WASN’T going to die and the third I don’t remember anything..

Some day you are going to have to tell the story about how a Honolulu cop ended up in Japan as a Gajun

Bingo!

The last all male Academy class. They were going to have it inscribed on their rings. The superintendent found out and said "Oh no you won't" They said it means "Loyalty, Wisdom , Courage and Brawn." Right. He did not buy it and some cadets that started it got jammed up but were able to graduate.
