I wish that Rolex would put out a dial like this............

I think this dial is just superb! The pin cushion look is incredible.

Rolex needs to expand its choices of faces IMO.

Looks beautiful!!

But I don't think Rolex will ever do that, most of their watches haven't change in the last fifty years or so, correct me if I'm wrong??

Looks "perty", but not on a Rolex. I would hate if they strayed anymore from their classic look.

There is something to be said about being conservative and not making changes which pretty much is what Rolex does!!! But I believe they could introduce a couple of modern designs to test the market and see what happens.

The "Golf Ball dial"?.It reminds me of the Pyramid dial somehow. Anyway, what would be even nicer, in conjunction with Rolex expanding their dial line, would be if Rolex would "allow" us to make changes to OUR watches. I enjoyed the comment on Antiquetimes' website - "Rolex needs to understand we bought these watches from them,we did'nt rent them". In the short time I've been a member here I've seen many posts along the lines of "my watch needs to go to RSC so I've got to change the caseback/bracelet/bezel etc.".Maybe this current global economy would give us some leverage and an opportunity to pressure Rolex for a change in attitude? I just don't understand how it would hurt Rolex to let us buy genuine Rolex parts, i.e. dials, bezels from an AD and have them installed at an AD. It would generate income for both parties, no? I could see Rolexes' possible point of "If we make these parts available, (and I'll use the DJ as an example because there's so many variations)the customer will only buy one or two watches and than X# of parts and keep swapping instead of buying more watches, thereby lowering our bottem line". I own two DJs. I might buy two more I particularly like, but I'm not buying a dozen + to get every one I find desireable. But I could certainly spend alot of $$$ buying Rolex parts.Rant over.

If you're just talking about the texture of the dial..

Rolex already did that with their "Honeycomb" or Waffle dials of the 40's and 50's...

It's an interesting look......probably softens it up in sunlight a bit if the dimples provide shading across the face..

Back in the 70's, Rolex didn't have any problem with dial changes through their RSC's. I had a President back then and virtually every year, I would change my dial. One year white, the next year black, then back to the original champagne and so on. They even gave you back the dial that was previously on the watch, in a sealed case for later use. Ah......those were the days!!!

Lovely wish they would do a black dial like the new one on the limited edition omega seamaster quantum of solace.
