Marc, I agree “hate” is a strong word. But, when used in the context of sports, I think the word is diluted and most often not used to its full meaning.
Like GB-man, I am a (long suffering) Bills fan and a Yankee fan. I may even be guilty of using the “h” word about the Pats and Tom Brady. Of course I don’t really hate them, I just have an intense passion to beat them. Until the Bills do that they remain the better team.
However, I do kind of “hate” that the Bills passed on Brady in the draft, at least twice I believe.
Btw, who are the Pats playing in the Super Bowl this year???
to Boston’s success in recent years.

I just checked. The Bills selected 6 players before New England took Brady at #199! None of the 6 we chose amounted to anything in the NFL. At least Buffalo wasn’t alone in overlooking TB. Every team had multiple chances to get him, including NE in the earlier rounds.

It's all good, I get it, I'm not a wall flower, I don't "love" your teams either and I have even said "hate". You just can't tell me tell me not to take it personally but spell out for me scenario where your feelings in the exact opposite direction are legit and I'm being too sensitive LOL makes zero sense, but whatever. Ultimately none of this matters to you, to me or to GB, your a good dude, he's a good dude we root for separate teams and no ones feelings are hurt I just think we are too easy to vilify and it's amazing to me. We do the same thing in politics... (I'leave that one alone LOL) I'm going to be careful with the "H" word and the denigration myself, I was just pointing out how easily we can destroy or tear down an opponent simply based on their success, seems petty.

Sad, any one reason?

Congratulations to the Washington Nationals on your first World Series!! Well deserved I think its safe to say you earned every ounce of the pinnacle of MLB.

P.S. I HATE the Boston Red Sox as you can tell from my OP, no need to deny it.

I was unfortunately or fortunately in a hotel bar trying to get a seat to eat and the game was on, so I was stuck there.

I respect the talent but shut up already and play. There should be 8-10 seconds from the time the pitcher gets the ball until he has to pitch it or else it's called a ball.

The game would end an hour earlier and a lot of players would not get throat cancer from chewing on tobacco for 3 hours.

And every time the announcer/color guy utters the same tired cliche he's been uttering for 20 years, he should be smacked on the face with a rubber bat wielded by the ball girl.

GAME ON.

Congratulations to the Nationals! A little bit a victory for Montreal, too. :-)

It was a great WS..... I had no dog in the fight, but since Howie Kendrick is a watch guy, I cheered for Nationals

Tons of people say the same thing to me and I guess I get it but that’s kind of like saying chess is slow. Baseball is or was a game of great game planning and execution. Time will tell since it looks like many young people share your sentiment.

Marc I was merely providing context. Not sure why this would be a touchy subject we are talking sports on a watch forum. If you think it’s offensive that opposing fan bases use the word hate to describe your winning sports teams come on down the 90 to buffalo. People use worse to describe our city never mind our football and hockey teams

No, not coming up to northern NY. I'm not s petunia either, I don't care how you "feel" my team and I'm sure you don't care how I feel either. Its the "ease" and openness with which we share those feelings I'm curious about. But whatever I'm clearly either not articulating it well or again no one cares. All good
