I’m sure there was an interview where JMP states that the Submersible line was the collection that was going to be exploring with new materials and such... now he’s expanding that to the Luminor line as well? Hmmmm...

actually the submersibles with experience sell very well. i heard that the 961 were already sold out at the sihh. perhaps that's the reason why the ceo expands it to the luminor line.

It reads a bit awkwardly, but he didn’t specifically say new materials for luminor. That said I’ll predict another 44 luminor carbo and, drumroll, a 44 luminor bronzo.

As for any completely new material it’ll be a new submersible.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the interview to be very inspiring. Panerai messing around with experiences and the like doesn't interest me much.

Nice interview. The comment section of the article was funny. Too many people making comments who have no idea what Panerai is about let alone ever own one....LOL.

A 44mm Bronzo would be interesting... he said that 2019 was conservative compared to what we will see in 2020.

Yeah I know green is good but on a luxury item???

No Panerai DNA at all in the article.

All these experience made me laugh! Might as well team with Disney and release a Star War series and do it at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I just want a watch that moves me, that is emotional and nostalgic. Make a PVD MM Luminor for a start.

I understand what they are doing...but I question it because it reeks of "trendy" and that is not always the right path.

If you look at "luxury" today, it is communicated through instagram via sharing experiences.

You don't see people showing off their Rolex sitting at the dentists office...you see them acting cool, in cool places, doing cool things. That is what the "influencers" capitalize upon is the whole "activity is cool" vibe...

So, Panerai is simply creating their own "experience" to be cool...

The question is...is it cool? If the factory sponsors the "experience" is it cool or contrived and manufactured...idk The market will tell us.

As for manufacturing with recycled materials and focusing that as a marketing promotion?

Nah...It's a watch. The scale isn't there to have any real effect so it kind of comes across as silly. Idk...maybe the market will LOVE it, but I doubt it.
