Great looking timepiece. The watch that you should rave about is the one that you love to wear. That looks good to you. Makes you feel confident. Makes you feel like it was a good purchase. Forget what everyone else says. That one looks great on your wrist. Cheers, mate!

Honestly, the Explorer II is far too underappreciated in my opinion. It definitely wears larger than a Sub, but is by no means "large" or uncomfortable. Its incredibly legible and honestly, I only need to be able to see two time zones as once (not a knock on the GMT Master II, but three time zones is more than I would ever use).

So here's a fun question for you... would a ceramic bezel make the Explorer II a better or worse watch? I'd argue worse, but that is just one man's opinion. Cheers!

My favorite current production model. It’s just a bit too large for my size wrist. Congrats on the beautiful piece

Agreed - glad to have gotten one with a steel bezel, in the event they ever move to ceramic.

Thanks for the support, all!

Not one of the watches folks here rave about or praise (especially since its not the “polar”), but I’m absolutely loving it. I expected it to wear much bigger than my sub and GMT, but alas the slimmer lugs and bezel make it very sleek and elegantly functional for both dress and casual settings.

I opted for the black dial, true to the original ref. 1655 (and a bit of a sleeper in today’s market).

Obligatory pic - cheers all!

Most comfortable watch I've ever had on my wrist!!! Love the black dial!!!! Congratulations and wear it in good health!!!

Congrats and wear it in good health!

I had a 16570 a decade or so and couldn’t bond with it, but love the latest reference. Also unique as “Explorer II” and the GMT hand share the same paint color.

My Polar says “Hi”!

I love it. I have a Polar and am thinking of flipping one of my Subs to add the Phantom.

Great Rolex. Love how it closely mirrors the 1655 yet has a modern vibe.

I’ve got an Explorer and would happily add either the black or white 2 to my collection! Enjoy!
