Good luck in the search!
I will add not to discount the 36mm version. It makes a more subtle statement than the 40 and I think that’s the way I’ll go. I went back to 36mm on one of my watches in rotation and the size is fine on me and my 7 1/2” wrist. I can carry off an IWC big pilot, 47mm Panerai, etc. but that’s not the statement I’m looking to make in a yellow gold piece. YMMV. But the older you get the more you appreciate subtlety. Something to think about.
Interesting point. Had to Google YMMV

I've tried on the 36mm and after wearing a DJ41...I just can't wrap my brain around the 36mm size.

I’m hoping to pick mine up in the summer, I am sure you will love it. My first dilemma was closing the metal, in the end I went for YG as it’s my first PM watch, good to see you’ve already decided on that.

In terms of dials, white romans, silver romans and black motif are my picks. I have a white Daytona so I ruled out the White. I like the motif pattern on the black dial, subtle but makes the watch look a bit more sporty, so that’s what I went for

Good luck!

My vote goes for champagne. I just think that this the classic timeless look I would go for. Baguettes are also stunning

Plain Jane champagne Roman YG DD. Can’t get more classy than that!

I’d go with the silver romans.

I was gifted the YG with Romans on Silver dial.
I thought I wanted YG with Romans on White. When I was at the AD returning the first watch, SA pointed out that the white looked somewhat stark in various light settings. He had me take it outside in the sun and different parts of the store. He was right. He showed me the Everose with Sundust Stripe dial - and that one sang to me (yes, I know it was more expensive). The RG was more demur than the YG and the dial, more interesting.

I also prefered the lume for checking time in the evening.

Not to bring up and old thread but I’ve thought more about the RG olive dial lately...

Is it not as a versatile a watch to wear as one of the YG pieces?

I think the only way I’ll answer this is to try both on simultaneously....if I’m ever so lucky to find them in the same place at the same time. And hopefully my wife is there - she does a good job helping me sort these dilemmas out. :p
