I am middle-aged, divorced, unemployed and live with my parents. I go to night school to earn my GED (ought to have it in another six or eight years) and my life’s ambition is to work on the assembly line at the local asbestos factory. I haven’t had a date in three years, unless you count my cousin, and I had to get permission from my parole office to get on the internet. If things work out between us you can move in with me, mom says there is plenty of room in the trailer. Nurses are encouraged to reach out, you can help me with my court-ordered psych med injections. Looking forward to hearing from you.

It really worked!
Have you considered stand up comedy?

Met my love on line! It’s extremely convenient when you work long hours and a lot of days. Imo if you’re a good looking guy and have a career you’ll have success on line. Women get inundated with men on those things. The downside to online dating is it’s initially all about the looks.

Greg, you just need to keep dating Rosey. No fights, no daddy issues, and you can keep your money. All works out....

"Career"? How about being comfortably retired? Looks are superficial. There are many average looking guys who are genuine.

Background checks? That’s what the current state of dating has come to?

Another indictment on the world we live in.

Unfortunately, for online dating that initial “swipe” is based purely on superficial requirements. You’re swiping on a picture...

Do I believe in computer dating?

Only if the computers really love each other.

I look just like the furry creature in my avatar, and my wife doesn't judge me for it. BTW, we met online and been married since 2001.

I’ll never join one of those online dating services. I prefer to meet someone the old fashioned way.

Through alcohol and poor judgement.

A great sense of humor.

So many guys have been working on all the wrong things. If all your free time is spent at the gym, the jokes on you.
Horse poop. Or maybe long term I suppose.

I’ve hung out with a lot of studs in my day.

But I went to Miami a few weeks ago with a Ken doll. Women were throwing themselves at him. I’ve never seen anything like it.

My buddy in LA was an actor/bartender and women would line up at the bar at closing time hoping he'd pick them.

BUT just because I guy wouldn't pass up a chance at Barbie doesn't mean he'd marry her. Or generally not for long. Although Ken and Barbie may work out.

The thing is though there are a lot more hours in the day than what the sex takes and you still have to have fun and be compatible or it all comes apart.

By buddy had a ton of Barbies and ended up going back to N. Carolina and marrying a great nice looking fun lady.

Not saying looks aren't a thing women care about but by a certain age, they realize that judging guys by looks may be why they're still single and missing out.

They’d have been disappointed after heading back to his place for a coffee though.

I think there’s a special someone for everyone but...

In an episode of Seinfeld, George did the opposite of what his initial thoughts were. It worked for him.

Couldn’t hurt to try.

I have a female friend, 45 years old though she looks 35, extremely attractive and fit, who explored the field the old fashioned way. Lots of socializing, drunken hook-ups with all ages and short relationships. Then she tried Zoosk and Tinder. Her inbox exploded, and she shopped from literally hundreds of man-ads. Her conclusion after six months of online dates and weekends? The old-school personal meeting at the bar or social event is preferable. Feels safer. And red flags are easier seen in person. Makes me glad I’ve been happily married for 42 years.

I’m with you. Was making light of the situation.

Dating...any kind of dating is hard abd can be tiring. They literally make endless movies and endless television shows about it.

Moping and whining never won anyone anything.

I didn’t have my buddies looks so I had to work at it. And work I did. I had good luck and bad luck. But it was worth it.

A good attitude goes nearly as far as a sense of humor. Or maybe they go hand in hand.

A single friend of my wife’s always says never live with or marry handsome men because you’re always fighting to use the mirror.

I’ve also read that a super good looking dude is always playing the field. And that women should marry someone less good looking as the dude will always be grateful and less likely to wander.

I remind my wife of this all the time. She’s a hottie and ten years younger. And simply a super person.

My daughter in law was is 46 now always complains about how men are slobs they come on dates with the those cool caps that go on backwards. Have zero manners. They only talk about themselves and only want sex.
I told her all the well dressed men who have manners, smell good and are caring and can talk about their feelings already have boyfriends.
