The James Cameron because it’s one of if not the only time in Rolex history they created a commemorative watch for a specific person/event. Extremely unique, wears so well for a big watch and is beautiful to look at imo...

I’d say SD43. Love the dial of the JC but the thickness was too much for me when I tried it on.

I'm in the same boat...I'm on the list for the SD43, but am thinking about the JC Deepsea. I've tried on the SD43 and it was perfect. Something about the deepsea is calling though...

Sorry to correct you, but the James Cameron is not the only time in Rolex history that they created a commemorative watch for a specific person or event. Rolex history is laced with these watch types.

One Single Example:

My DLC Submariner tribute watch (#18 of only 86 made),for Jacques Piccard, is exceeding rare.

I’ve had the SD43. I sold it and, after good investigation, i bought the DSSD JC. Wow. I love it and it fits my wrist perfectly. Cannot stop looking at the dial! So...dare to try, you won’t regret! Promised!

DSSD is a big watch but the size is manageable and the wrist presence is great. I wouldn't consider it a great daily though.

You have to try both of them, it really kind of depends on the shape of your wrist, I've had both and the one that won was the SD43. Both are fantastic.

As a remote purchase never been worn, I'd go Sub43

Jc if your wrist can handle it, mine is to small. but since they destroyed the SD line with a cyclops, the jc is the next best thing!!

Go for the most technically advanced diver. It wears better with a flush back - SD43 caseback protrudes excessively from the case, which can cause discomfort.

Plus, the DSSD just stands out. Can’t be mistaken for a Sub date.

I owned SD43 first and sold it once I bought DSSD D-Blue as I knew it would no longer get wrist time.

because the sd43 reminds me of the usual Submariner
the DeepSea is the ultimate expression of Diver ...... stunning watch, The Last Frontier .... says Rolex
for me it is superior

I went with the SD43, looked at the JC and did not like all of the busyness of it. The ring lock text and all of the other text made it seem noisy to me. I could see it becoming dated fast. Plus it is a BIG watch. SD43 is the true modern interpretation of the rolex diver. And my older eyes appreciate the cyclops.
