Rolex warranty card with no sale of date on it?
I’m thinking about making an expensive purchase from a second hand dealer and the warranty card doesn’t have a date of sale. The printed name of the official Rolex retailer is “Swiss watch gallery”. They only have stores in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia which have very high import
Tax rates to the the United Kingdom where I live. Any input appreciated, thankyou. |

Warranty isn’t valid until the warranty card is dated.

The current rule is that the date is the mandatory info on the warrantee card. I do not know, might be before it was not so....

Yes not actually wanting the warranty, just the “papers” so to speak. Am really just wanting to know a possible reason for not dating the warranty card really. And if it should be a concern regarding the purchase of the watch

No concern since it's out of warranty anyway. If the watch is from 2014 then the bigger question is if it's in need of service. Set aside some cash for that just in case.

buy the seller first
buy the seller first! Always check and double check reviews from third party sites, and members here sometimes the watch isn't exactly as described. what is the warranty?? some stores say No Returns I would check first to see if one of our Trusted sellers has or can get watch first...

Date on card needs to match the date card was scanned. I inquired about a piece someone was selling and they mentioned they bought it from an online vendor and the vendor told him it was a 2019. The card was AD stamped from Italy but no date. I reached out to the AD in italy and after a lot of back n forth, I finally got the answer that the watch was sold in 2015. Long story short, I didnt buy the piece.

I have viewed the watch In person and know the dealer. What I am getting at is why would someone not validate the warranty card by signing it is it something I should be suspicious of?

The AD I bought a Tudor from recently was too busy chatting forgot to fill in the warranty card. I have since been back and had it completed.

It is a Grey Market watch, imported before it ever got to the Dealer on the card.
There is no warranty on this watch. Buy it if you like it, it's still a Rolex.

Cards weren't scanned back in 2014.
Buy the piece and write any date on that you fancy. |

There are a couple of reasons the date might not be there. 1. The watch was first dealt out the back door of an AD to a grey marketer - who then sold it to a person - who then never needed warranty work - who then sold it to whomever you are buying it from. 2. The watch was stolen in 2014-ish from the AD (very unlikely but the other reason a date could be blank) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How could that have happened? All Rolex watches are shipped from the various Rolex importers direct to the dealers within their region. It would seem this watch had to have left an authorized Rolex dealer without the proper information being placed on the warranty card.

Those distributors are not obligated to portion watches out if the numbers are not lucky, the Dealers don't pay up front, their brother in law wants some, Dealerships go belly-up, or a host of other reasons. Bulk buyers are out there waiting, just like Costco, Joma, Furman, and others, to buy up all this excess. Some cultures will turn their unsold inventory back in and demand new, because sitting too long is bad luck for the owner.
