Red Stella 18038

Picked up a red Stella 18038 at the Miami Beach show. It’s from a trusted vintage seller, but given the realities of Stellas, I’d appreciate any knowledgeable input, thanks!

Lmk if you want any other or specific photos.

Very nice Clay, it looks very sharp on the bezel geometry and a lovely dial.

Thanks, gentlemen! I assume then that, if the red above is how the Stella window bevels and arrises are supposed to look, that the below green one ... is not? (The green is not mine, nor is it claimed to be Stella, it’s listed only as “enamel.”)

True — But then, isn’t this true of every 4- or 5- digit DD (or DJ) with an uncommon dial? Stone, wood, Stella, logos, red-quarters, all of them could have been swapped, right? (This isn’t a rhetorical question - I’m asking.) Even those very, very few whose certificates state a specific dial (i.e., beyond simply a color) oblige one to trust that the certificate is genuine. It’s truly a shame that Rolex doesn’t offer archive records of exactly how each serial # was born.

The paint on the breaks look broken and thinned out on the green dial. Rolex never does that. Also, the raised gold lettering is perfect on the red dial and flat looking on the green dial. Would need quality pics of the green dial.
