Buy the Rootbeer TT Now vs Buy the Full Gold Rootbeer Next Year
Guys,
I have already enough fund to pull the trigger on Rootbeer TT now....However, a friend advises to save the money for another year to enable me to purchase the Full Gold Rootbeer.... What do you think guys? Better pull the trigger now or save the money for another year for Full Gold Rootbeer? Regards,

I vote for the full gold version
I was lucky enough to hold one and see one at an AD, and it is a beautiful watch While the two tone is also neat, I think it is very “meh” looking compared to the full gold Also, I’m not just saying that because of two tone vs full gold With the submariner, I think the two tone blue dial looks better then the full gold version |

I prefer this one...the full RG CHNR, so I say save a while longer if you can. Awesome balance of weight on the wrist and the color scheme just works

Interesting as I though this was a discussion forum not an agreement forum. As far as being grumpy, a question usually receives the answer it deserves

I say save up. I know that being patient is hard but you'll be happier buying the piece you've always aspired to own and not the one that is just obtainable now.

The answer really depends on your taste, but . . . I recommend going TT first. You can always upgrade later if you really 1) love the watch and 2) feel the itch to upgrade.

Since the RG is on your radar it always will be. I would wait for the full gold, well worth it.

I’d go for the TT because I like it better, but that’s personal preference

I say full gold. The delayed gratification will also make you even happier when you get it. Besides, who knows what Rolex is coming out with this April? You might prefer a Basel 20 release.

I have a TT currently but I would swap for a FG in a heartbeat. It is a special watch.

I have both TT and full gold pieces and love them both. It’s really a question only you can answer as to which one will make you happiest in the long run?
A full gold piece is also double the investment which may or not be material to you. If ultimately you want the full gold, a year isn’t a terribly long time to hold off to make it happen. Either is a beautiful watch so good luck!

I'd wait until you have the funds to purchase either and then just choose the one you want based on appearance. If you choose TT and upgrade later you will likely take a hit of a few thousand. If you choose full gold and go back to the TT you will probably take twice the hit.
Pretend the cost is the same and pick the one you think looks best then don't look back. I had the TT sub and had to eat the cost to upgrade to the full gold later. |

If you like the full gold enough to pay that price for it, wait and get it. Likely, in the next decade or two, PM will make a comeback, so it could be the next hot commodity. If you're going PM, I'd say go all in and do the full rather than TT.

I initially wanted the full RG, but came across the TT by chance at an AD and snagged it. No regrets. If you have heart set on the full gold, don’t settle.

Whenever you put full gold on , you will have different feelings, I own full gold root beer , you don’t need to wait next years , open new credit card , 0% for 12 months , 1.5% cash back , $200 to $500 bonus for new card :) . Thanks me later

It really depends on which one you want the most. I can't tell you which one you want the most. I vote TT because I like the TT version. That's what I would do. I'm not you.

Ok, i was in your same dilemma but i could have chosen either. Here are a couple of my thoughts around my decision making. I wound up getting the Two Tone.
1. If you pay MSRP for the two tone you will get all your money back in the next 12 months and maybe even make a bit so you don't lose much having the TT for a year. 2. The two tone rose gold contrast with the steel looks really nice. I'd personally never get yellow gold but the rose gold is awesome contrast. 3. The all rose gold in certain light, for instance a bar or restaurant evening scene is sometimes hard to discern the color. This is where the TT does a better job making the rose gold pop. 3. 90% of my friends and family said the TT was a less blingy way to go. I really fight everyone on this but i have to say, wearing the TT anywhere, I don't personally feel like i'm "overdressing" as i would with the full rose gold. 4. Going the TT route frees up another 20k for another awesome rolex. Less eggs in one basket. 5. With all that said i sometimes yearn for the full rose gold but that doesn't last long and i think i'd still rather have two watches versus the one full RG. Hope that helps. |

Which one do you like best? Personally I prefer the all RG CHNR and would save up for that one.
