AP/Royal Oak Men’s Wedding Ring?

Hi all,
I’d like to get a Royal Oak ring to celebrate(?!) getting hitched, but haven’t had any luck in my search so far. AP in London tell me production stopped a number of years ago, and so I’ve been looking on Amazon and eBay without finding what I want (sans diamonds).
Has anyone got any ideas, please?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

A good jeweller could make one.

This way you can have what you want and perfectly sized, rather than possibly having to have an off the shelf ring adjusted.

Also, just anecdotally, I heard that Darren Clarke (golfer) had his wedding ring custom made, half the band was rose gold and half was white gold, the reason being so that he could rotate the ring to match the colour AP watch that he was wearing!

I played golf with Darren Clarke at Goodwood on a previous AP golf day, what a total legend, he even tried calling my wife and when he couldn’t get through he recorded a short video. I think he thought I’d punched above my weight and wanted to tell her.

I met him when I lived in LA, he was playing at Riviera in whatever the event was called at the time. He was super fit and super slim...then he hit the Guinness again.

I'd love to play with him, clearly he was great fun when you played together, and if you are any sort of a gentleman, even if you are a Clooney or Brad Pitt doppelganger, then you'd acknowledge that he was right :)

I know my wife 'settled' for me, lol, but no one has so far dared to tell me to my face.

Agreed, it would be very easy to get one CAD designed and made for you in whatever metal you wanted. An AP one wouldn't appeal to me, but my wedding ring is made of much more profound metal - ex-1940 Battle of Britain Spitfire aluminium!

Very cool indeed, and well done for the spelling.

That’s very cool !

Was the ring already made or did you have it cast from the metal ?

I had it made myself - it's what my business does, craft items out of historic metal with provenance and a back story. In fact we're making a pair of wedding rings right now (a man's and woman's) out of Spitfire for a client in the US.

A buddy of mine owns one of the watches made from Titanic salvaged steel, not a pretty watch, but has a nice story behind it. To actually commission something entirely bespoke from material that means something to the owner is very cool.

Must admit I'm not impressed with the RJ Titanic watch. Apart from being hideous, initially I understood they'd mixed a very small piece of Titanic hull with a huge amount of modern steel, which to me dilutes the provenance aspect too much. Then I heard (I don't know if its true) that the metal didn't come from Titanic at all, but from a sister ship.

I don't know about the latter part of your comment re the provenance of the steel, but I never liked the aesthetics of the watch myself, but I liked the concept, as appears to be your business model.

Please take my advice seriously. Never buy diamond royal oak ring. NEVER! Rocks fall off easily. Corners that keep the diamonds are very soft. Diamonds are beautiful but they easily fall off at slight hit against almost anything. That is a disaster. No one will help you afterwards. Each time it falls off you get upset and angry. Ring looks ugly after third diamond lost. Stay away!

If you’re in London message Bobby White. You can find him on Instagram and also YouTube where he has a huge following for custom jewelry. Craftsmanship is next level.
