Wrist balance - Submariner
Does anyone have some hints and tips on reaching the optimum balance on the wrist?
I am a desk diver and notice mine sits a little high on the wrist i.e. towards the pinky, rather than dead centre. I have a 7.5inch wrist and currently have a 5:5 split on links. Think I need to try a 6:4 with bias at 12. Interested in anyone has found perfect balance. |

I think it depends on the wrist. I like my clasp to be centered which is how yours is now, but many like a shorter 6:00 side, so definitely try it. Also, you can change the side of the half link. And don’t forget that where you have the glidelock will make a difference. Lots of variables but also the one bracelet you can dial in perfectly. Wish every oyster came with a half link and some amount of glidelock.

I have a similar size wrist and have more links on the 12 side. I think it's a 6 and 4 arrangement like you said and it sits pretty flat on my wrist.

Heya, I actually wear the watch on the side of wrist bone toward my elbow and generally on the snug side where it doesn’t slide. Generally pretty center + it’s snug so doesn’t move.
This has been generally the most comfortable centered position. |

My wrist is also 7.5” and my Submariner bracelet is also set up at 5/5 like yours. My clasp is centered and the watch head sits perfectly on my wrist not favoring any one side. I prefer to wear my watch on the snug side.

I always have more links on the 12 o’clock side for balance.
I have a 7” wrist and on my Sub,Rainer I set it up with 5.5 at 12 and 5 links at 6. With this set up the clasp is centered and the watch sits perfectly. The glidelock is in the middle position. I also have a flat shaped wrist |

I believe that most have more links on the 12:00 side but as stated above wrist shape has a lot to do with this. I have a 7 inch wrist and my 14060 sits perfectly centered with 6 links on the 12:00 side and 5 links on the 6:00 side.

7.5 inch wrist here and have all 12 links on.
5 on 6oclock and 7 on 12oclock. Glide lock all the way in. Maybe my wrist is bigger? No way it fits with 10 links! |

I have the 6 and 4 arrangement with the 6 being on the 12 side. It works perfectly.

I tried moving the half link to the 6 o’clock side but couldn’t get the clasp centered. Ended taking out the half link all together and got a perfect fit.

IMHO watches like the sub should be worn just above the wrist bone.

Try 4 and 6. Usually fewer links on the 6 o'clock side works well for.

Bracelets are sized from the 6 side not the 12 side so the key is how many links you have on the 6 side.
I have the same issue. I wear my with 4 1/2 on the 6 side and they fit great and balance. |

I think my Sub is 6 and 5, with 6 on the 12 side -- fits snug with glidelock all the way in.

I think for a centered clasp you should try doing 6x4 and play around with the gridlock of course.

Agree. I think that's his problem. Mine also has more links in the 12:00 side than the 6:00 side which I believe is common.

I moved the half link for 4.5 at the six o'clock side, centers the clasp perfectly, oddly only the ss submarinar seems to have the half link.

I have a 7" wrist and have my links at 5 and 5. Clasp sits perfectly in the middle of my wrist.

Timely thread resurrection!
I have a flat/skinny/bony 7.25” wrist and my 114060 has been driving me nuts lately. Not sure why- perhaps the less humid winter affects fit? I’ve had the watch for about a year. The best fit so far has been 4 links on the 6 o’clock side and 5.5 links on the 12 side. The only catch is that combo resulted in the Glidelock set to the second to last “notch” on and I wanted to be in the middle for equal adjustment both ways. Over the weekend I swapped a full link to the 12 side for 6 links there and 4 links on 6 side. The watch fees terrible now! I actually had to take it off at the office. When initially sized at the AD, they put 5 links on 6 side and now looking back at photos, the clasp is not centered. I’m pretty sure 4 is correct on 6 side. Anyone have any ideas, or is the super case just not friendly to bony/flat wrists? |

It's a heavy watch.. They will almost always migrate to the outside of the wrist, just because of gravity.
Probably if you walked around with your wrist held perfectly flat in front of you everywhere you went, your watch just might stay "centered".
