Got iPhone...need case now...
I couldn't resist Best Buy's iPhone promotion for Reward Zone members where silver members can get a $100 off. So I ended up getting the 16 GB black iPhone for $200 USD.
So far, I think it's a pretty cool and functional phone. I have gotten some drop calls, but I am not quite sure if it's the phone or AT&T Wireless. My only other irk is the contacts and the OS X address book. This is mainly because I am a heavy MS Outlook user. So the problem is what case to get. I have been to the Best Buy and Apple store. I have searched on-line and read reviews after reviews. The main issue is pretty much every case is ugly. If it wasn't for my concern that I may drop it, I would use no case at all. With that said, what are fellow TRF members using as cases for their iPhones? |

Been down the road on iPhones cases for awhile to include the clear acrylic ones. What I find to be the best it the thin rubber iSkin type cases that have hard plastic cover that's easily reversed and attached to the back while the iPhone is in use. I also use the screen films to protect that part a bit more too. Keeps it from getting scratched, offers good (but no great) drop protection and just doesn't get in the way like the more cumbersome one do. The Agent 18 look pretty good too. http://www.iskin.com/store/i2shop_re...36014939145891 |

I am using the Invisible Shield from ZAGG.com. Although not much of a "case" per say...it does offer excellent scratch protection. I dont make it a habit of dropping my cell phones, so I wasnt concerned with drop protection. Casemate makes a really nice acrylic case that covers the entire phone with acrylic, even the screen. A friend of mine hasd it and I love it, well the idea of it, but it makes the phone too bulky for me.

In my research, the problem with a lot of those cases is that dust and dirt gets into the case which will actually scratch the iPhone. That came up with the Agent 18 and other similar cases. The problem with rubber cases is that they will stretch.
I will consider the Invisible Shield, although I wonder if there is any loss of responsiveness. I noticed that was an issue when I was using the plastic cover that came with the iPhone. |

The plastic cover is not meant to be used in that manner, thats you had an issue(i know...I used it for a week that way). As embarassing as this is, it took about 6 hours of me saying..."man, I cant hear with this stupid phone...I hope it isnt like this all the time"...untill I realized the plastic that came on it that I was using for a screen protector covers the earpiece!! DUH It is only for packaging protection. There is no loss of performance with the invisible shield or the casemate case. They work as if they are not even there. Hope you find the right case for you.

My friend did that too, so I knew better when I got my iPhone.
I'm leaning towards the Vaja cases. I just wish they weren't so expensive and that it takes a month to get one. |

Congrats on the iphone purchase,I have gone thru 8 various cases and Zagg. I know Zagg is a 2mm film but I don't like how it makes the phone feel. I use no screen protection anymore. I use a thin black silicon type skin that you could get on ebay for like 5 bucks and its 2 mm thin as well. Everything else is basically cookie cutter or they all start looking the same with different brand names. I seriously doubt any offer protection if you drop them.

I kept mine naked. Don't like the extra bulk of a case.
Just my opinion

yeah..with the acrylic cases...dust does get into it...I keep it in my pockets and dust is an issue...but my wife's in the purse and hers is cleaner...I have it blown out once every few months...scratch is not an issue

I got the "incase slider" for the 3G iphone and love it. My wife got one as well.
I spent Hrs researching all the available cases and have not regretted this one. Protects the phone Prevents scratches (read the review of other soft shell products...all or almost all will end up scratching your iphone due to dust and small particles rubbing against the material) * Durable iPhone 3G protection * Lightweight hardshell plastic construction * Direct access to widescreen * Easy access to all controls and device features * Allows charging while in case or bottom cover slides away for docking * Soft touch finish http://goincase.com/products/detail/slider-case-cl59055 |

I didn't know LV made iPhone cases and after seeing the price, I can see why you don't see too many of them. $300 for a case...that's more than the cost of the iPhone!
Nothing against LV, I have a $300 LV wallet. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a slip-on case so you have to take it out of the case anytime you want to use it. That's not practical for me. |

Zagg takes a while to put on and I used it for a few months it turns yellow or yellowed over time. I put it in my pocket etc. The LV is not my cup of tea but make it into a slip in case with access to all ports then it would be a match with my wallet!

Your right i had bought one or both the LVmonoflauge and i had to send them back to get reglazed because they are to tight for the 3G iphone, but if you have the first generation Iphone its perfect

It does fit but really tight and will eventually tear the side glazing and will fall apart! Read the post above this one had to send it back twice to get reglazed which took about 1 1/2 months

nice, i love my 16gb iphone white.
Heres a good site for ipod stuff and accessories. Rock bottom prices and free shipping. But be warned, it does take a few weeks to get to you. around 4-6 like they claim. It comes from HK. I bought so many cases for about 2 bucks each. That and a bunch of cables and other accessories. heres the site. dealextreme.com |

I've been using the Griffin Elan since 2007.
Two years later, it still holds up perfectly.
