Thanks for the constructive comments. After doing research, I realized what a rare find it was on a 6263 to have a dial and case preserved in this original and unpolished state with unblemished and complete lume plots, original pushers, hands and insert.

What's the beginning of the serial? I assume it's a low 5 million, yes?

Hi Aaron, yes... Phil did a great job on authentication of the overall piece and servicing the movement, which I decided made sense on a piece I intend to responsibly enjoy from time to time...it's a 5.5 serial from '78.

Happy to share, as we all can benefit and learn from each other here. Vintage side beats contemporary Rolex in my book for variety, collector value and stories IMHO.

I've been trying to pin down information on late '70s 6263s with cream dials (as opposed to more silvery dials). There is definitely a difference, but there's not a lot written about it online, not that I can find anyway.

Serial for this Daytona is 5.52xxxx.
