2846-2 Cosmic Moonphase help

I’m looking at this lovely piece and would like some opinions on the rear of the case. The scoring is what concerns me. Apparently it was done to help secure the caseback. The dial I’m aware has been restored, but moonphase and hands are original I believe.

Thank you.

From the collector stand point, the redone dial bothers me more than the marks on the inside.

But.... from the cautionary standpoint, i am not sure how filing the edge helped secure the snap back.
The only thing I could think of, is that it created burrs that gave something for the lip to grab on to.
If that is the case, then the next question would be, how quickly would those burrs wear out.
That is not a common way to repair that problem that I am aware of.
I would want to buy it at a discount, assuming I may have to repair the snap back again.

Thank you for your help. I’ve passed on it.
