Not a weird combination, but when I make oatmeal from those little bags, I cook it until it is a super-thick consistency. My mom says that it looks like tar. But I love it, it's like cake!

1/ Sliced or cubed SPAM (Lite Version or Low Sodium version) grilled or pan fried and then mixed with instant ramen noodles and a fried egg (for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner).

That sounds pretty good. Did you grow up in the South?! I loved cold fried spam sandwiches with mustard....

No, grew up in Northern California, and also lived in Los Angeles for 5 years (in the 80's) while attending college.

I am well traveled though, have been to the South many times, particularly Atlanta and love the southern style breakfasts (chicken fried steak is # 1 !!!) there.

Oh, please don't let Carolina the healthy food nazi read this... I recently bought a can of Spam to fry up for my kids. We were all disappointed - they absolutely hated it, and I did, too. Guess tastes change, because when I was a kid, it was the best thing ever.

I have never tried Spam, it always looked totally terrible to me. I never liked the real ham packed in a can either. Tuna all the way!
To add to the thread, with my tuna, I like different flavours. I enjoy tuna on saltines with mustard, and also with barbecue sauce, and sometimes even hot sauce. It's a whole big production when I open a can of tuna

I have never tried okra, unfortunately. I like chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy for breakfast whenever I head into the South. For dinner, some real barbecue beef brisket (Texas style) is really the best. Hard to come by here in California, though.

Yes, SPAM is not pretty, but grilled or pan fried with eggs (over rice, bread or instant ramen), it is delicious !

I do the same thing. My current favorite is tuna, chopped up tomato, mustard, and a bit of sriracha for heat all topped on Triscuit crackers.

Yeeeeeeeeeeees! I love tomatoes in everything, and it is awesome with tuna (and a little avocado!) and Sriracha is the only hot sauce that I like. I would definitely be making tuna if our house wasn't under renovation!

it's not bad if you fry it, but once every five years or so will do me just fine!

One of my favorites is organic plain yoghurt with fresh cut up strawberries and blueberries, a cup of raw oatmeal and some honey drizzled on top. I eat a bowl or two every day, usually for 2nd breakfast or a late afternoon meal.
