Smaller wrists guys (6"-6.5") - What is your cut off size?

Hello folks.....I thought this thread would be useful to us guys with smaller wrists.
I know there's no rule, and I have seen thin guys with massive size watches anyway, but out of curiosity, what is your cut off?
Now I do get that it depends on the lugs, how bulky the watch is, etc. But what is the biggest size you currently own? Or see yourself ever owning?
Personally I plan on buying the Rolex Submariner no date.
A little on the big side with the lugs, and a 40MM Dial, it’s a piece li love.

Love the black sub, true classic. Have gone from 36mm to 44mm and found that 40mm is my sweet spot.

I have a 6.75" wrist and feel a 40 is pushing it. I have a Tag that is 41 and it feels and looks to big on me. So I am going to go with 39 being the biggest I should own.

Really depends on the watch and the negative space that will make it feel larger. I have a 6.5" wrist and my sweet spot is a 36mm DJ. My max is a 42mm PO 2500.

I have a 6'5" wrist and agree less than 40mm is the sweet spot. The BB58 fits very well and is 39mm (I think).

34mm - 40mm seems about right depending on the style.

I think 36mm - 40mm is the sweet spot for any size wrist. I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist. My SS 36mm Datejust, and 40mm SS Submariner wear perfectly.

My wrists are on the smaller side, my first watch was a breitling superocean heritage 46mm! I have since completely changed my taste... 37-39 imo is perfection, one of my dream watches is a 15202, never tried one in person yet so I certainly hope I’m not disappointed!

Lug to lug length is a much more significant factor for my aesthetic taste with 51mm being the upper limit.

But as you have already stated. There is no rule. Wear what you like.

I’m in this camp, although the shape of your wrist plays a big part in whether you can pull off the larger sizes.

i have 6.5 inch wrist. And Even tho 36 would probably look good on me I find that a thin 40m watch is perfect for me. The DJ41 is perfect for me

Agree that this is the most important thing. My first really nice watch was a 38mm NOMOS and the lug to lug length made it wear way too large. I wear what I want but pay attention to the lug to lug width.

I have a 6.5 in wrist, my largest watch is a 42mm speedy. Also have 40mm and 36mm, I think the 36mm fits the best.

40 mm 5513 and 36 mm OP are perfect. 39 mm Explorer 1 felt to big.

Daytona, YM and DD 36 are perfect for me, although they occasionally feel big. Submariner I’m 50/50 on, ended up selling mine because half the time it sadly felt too big. DJ41 was too big for me, it had a lot to do with lug to lug and dial size more than just the diameter.

I have small wrists and the largest watch I own is a 45mm PO. It's a beast but I love it. Not comfortable for everyday wear though. Too large and heavy. On a daily basis my limit is 40mm.

sub is fine on all wrists. small and large. it is iconic, even if it feels bulky. dont hesitate on its size

I have 6.5 wrists. I have 6 weeks left of college, now online, and will be buying a 37 RG YM from my AD. Was actually making an inquiry about it before they closed for the virus. It wears smaller but I love how it looks on the wrists.

I’ve never measured my wrists but I’m pretty sure they are in that range.

I don’t think about it. I buy what I like but not before seeing it in the metal first. If it looks weird on my wrist, and I don’t love it, I’ll pass. I think rules over complicate things. Part of the fun is discovering a watch, seeing in the metal and trying it on. If you start limiting yourself, think about all the cool watches you’ll miss out on.

6.5 here - my daily is a 34mm air-king, but I can go bigger. I've tried on the new ceramic BLRO and it fit well but would not go 1mm larger.

My wrists are approx. 6.5in and my preferred upper limit is 40mm. My favourite watch for size and comfort is my Polar 16570 Exp II.

I do have a couple of 42mm - Speedmaster and new Breitling SuperOcean and they're slightly on the big side for me.

I also have a Bremont Alt-1ZT at 43mm and damn thick. It's too big really but is a limited edition for my Squadron so had to buy it!

I think to go bigger than 40 with our wrist size the general aesthetic of the watch has to be right. For example, a Seiko SKX007 doesn’t look bad at 42 mm, and I reckon it’s because everything on the watch is big and professional diver-lookin. But a 42mm dress watch would not look good.

6.25" wrists. Sub-C is on the line for me. I can pull off about 43mm in Panerai or Breitling, but a 40mm Rolex with the maxi-case is edge to edge (If I could have ceramic sub with the tapered case I would have preferred that).

Added a few pics to hopefully help with size.

My Breitling is 43mm and I believe the Pam 162f is 44mm. In the future I will get a 43 mm Pam, as the 44 was just a hair too large and the 43mm Breitling is max size for me.

I have a 6.5 wrist and 42mm is my absolute max. I love my 34mm and anything between that and 40 is comfortable.

I can comfortably buy and 34-38mm over the internet, without trying it on. Anything over, I need to see in person first.
