FS- 1968 Rolex 6239 1.7 Million Cosmograph Daytona Silver Cherry Dial

For sale is a very rare all original 36.5 mm stainless steel Vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. The “Cherry” 6239 is a 1.7 million serial, circa approximately 1968, and is not accompanied by any box or papers. The Rolex features a brushed steel case, accented by a fixed tachymeter bezel, which is original to the watch and calibrated to 200 units per hour. The Daytona is mounted on its original brushed steel USA Rivet bracelet, which is production stamped July 1968, and secured by a deployment clasp. The Rivet bracelet contains 11 full size links, will comfortably fit a 7.35 inch wrist, and contains minimal stretch, would rate it 90%. The Rolex features a silver “Cherry” dial with: applied polished stick hour markers, polished tritium coated hands, and matte black sub dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. It is worth mentioning that the dial has been preserved magnificently, as all of the tritium lume plots are present, and most of them are intact. Furthermore, the tritium hands and hour markers have acquired an even golden cream patina, which only addes to the watch’s handsomely aged vintage aesthetics. The movement used the 6239 is the Rolex Calibre 722-1, which was the final iteration of the 722 before Rolex switched to the 727. The movement is currently running and functioning as should. With regards to the watches overall condition, it appears to have only been polished once or twice, would rate it 85%. Furthermore, all of the Daytona’s components are original, and have not been altered in any way. It is truly a rare occurance to find a 6239 which is this original, but aso contains a rare and sought after “Cherry” dial.
