14998 is still $15k, and these watches were only $16k clearly used before recent events. A downtown of $1k isn't too significant. The BNIBs are 16.5k now and they were 17.5k before, too.

Anyway, my point is, 14998 is still $15k. lol.

Goes to show, the market clearly thinks that was a bargain then (and it was!).

People who are over-leveraged will dump stock, the rest will keep and enjoy them. Or sit on them.

I'm with you on that one RHIII. There needs to be a "like" function integrated on here.

Yeh buying over list in this situation kind of screams wtf when there is good reason to believe it will be cheaper the next week and the next week after that.

Overpriced, due to all the hype it’s been given. I don’t quite get the attraction to these models. Hulk, Kermit, Pepsi, Coke, etc. They have similar/same dials, with a different color bezel. A Submariner, is a Submariner. The rest have silly names. Sorry, I don’t get it.

For prices to cool? Not everyone. But most, I would guess.

For an economic crash? The cyclic nature of the world economy dictates that there will be dips and crests. Most of us accepted that. You have to filter out the vultures and idiots - they are not representative, however loudly and frequently they voice this nonsense.

For a lethal pandemic which concomitantly tanked the economy? I'm sure that's not what you are implying. Is it?

No. But lots of folks were hoping for a recession so they could grab a SS model on the cheap. My point was that recessions have very unpleasant side effects, which they may not have given much thought to.

I don’t think anyone would wish a recession, that’s just not good for anyone. I do think a lot of members wished that the hype would die down so that pieces became available. Most people see a market price as MSRP and paying anything over that is not smart. Anyone that can pay 10.5 for a pepsi (incl tax) can very well pay 16 for the watch if need be, just not a good way to spend money when you know the true value is only 10.5. No malice from any forum member.

Well, before all this the running philosophy was that it’s cheaper overall to just pay the premium rather than spend way more on PM pieces which will take a huge hit, even in the best of times. That argument is obviously much stronger now. But it comes at an even higher cost. We were all better off with hyper inflated prices and a healthy world and economy.

Oh how wordy Harry. People are going to take advantage of the "bargain" pricing, but that doesn't mean they've wished doom on the world.

It was going to happen anyways, regardless of whether a virus was going to bring the world economy to a halt or not. Don’t forget that point. Obviously we’re better off with a healthy world, whats that got to do with the price of tea in China?

A lot of the members saying “this is nothing it’ll be over in a few months” or “it only dropped X hundred dollars”...reminds me of that band that kept playing on the titanic while the titanic was sinking to keep the people calm. You guys are the band and the watch market is the titanic.
