...and if the Explorer's renovation should come up with any surprises?

The logical thing to do would be to renew the calibre for the new 3232. The rest of the watch would remain the same with its 39 mm diameter.

.

The first novelty would be an Explorer with a white dial.

.

The other surprise would be an everose gold Explorer.

.

Do you like the addition of the new caliber?

What do you think of the white Explorer?

...and the Explorer everose gold?

I am not into rose gold watches as its never been my cup of tea.

White dial however, bring it on!

It would be too bad to see the explorer offered in gold. The explorer line has been true to its roots. Its nice that several lines of Rolex sport watches are like the explorer in that they remain steel utility pieces.

It’s hard to improve on a good thing. The movement upgrade will most likely migrate to all the Rolex references in time.

As for PM and Explorer ... that seems like an oxymoron to me

I'd love the white dial Explorer! I feel like it should actually be offered in black and white just like the Explorer II.

The white dial looks pretty cool, the rose gold is not that bad too.

I don't like a gold Explorer either. It's not the spirit of the Explorer.

The explorer would be fine in precious metals. No different than the subs in precious metals.

I would buy a white dial Explorer immediately.

White dial would be great, but with black hands & indices.

Rose gold version looks dope.

But above all, a (not likely) return to 36 mm would be nice.

The white dial makes it look too much like the Explorer II. We already have the Explorer II.

And as sexy as the gold/black Rolex combo looks, it removes it from the pure tool status that is the 214270's home.

I expect the movement upgrade will happen next year.

The white dial would add a difference to the watch for sure. I would definitely be up for that one.

Would like to see an oyster flex version as well.

Pass on the PM versions for this model. Have to keep this one true to its roots.

I just had a thought...white dial Exp 1 with the introduction of a new metal - Rolex's first titanium watch. It would be super light and durable. The Rolex "Snowflake"

In all seriousness though, if Rolex were to introduce a titanium watch, I do think that the Explorer 1 would be a prime candidate.

White dial is nice but nothing special.

Gold is as pointless as a gold submariner, if you’re going to spaff £30k on a precious metal watch it should be something elegant and dressy, not a tarted up sports/tool watch.

.

If/when Explorer will be renewed that won't be with a 3232 but a 3230.

The difference between 3130 and 3132 is only the paraflex shock system, and all 32xx have it.

Not sure the PM would be a hit. White might work & it would be cool seeing an ExpII themed white 214270 - i.e. black handset, maybe orange seconds.

Although the movement might get updated, the very fact this is a no date means its quick and easy to set, and an extra 24 hours PR isn't that big a deal.

My thought to make the explorer the perfect watch is for it to use the Daytona case.

The current case and lugs are too chunky.

That's big for the kind of watch that it is.

The 41mm Datejust doesn't really measure that diameter. It's about 39.5 mm.

The Explorer is the last remaining tool watch. Don’t think it will ever be in any metal other than SS. You can take that to the bank

White dial is cool but the Explorer was traditionally a high viz watch, right? Black dial will remain imo...
