So a customer may lie but the dealer is still getting exactly what they want.
But, you DID lie through your teeth.

You posted the following: "I'm going to tell them that until they offer me a good SS piece at MSRP that I won't be buying PM models (which have much higher margins for dealers) from them."

That strongly implies that you are willing to bundle to get what you want, plain and simple.

I wrote that if they offered you a PM piece at MSRP (possibly a President) you like AND a good SS piece you like (you mentioned a Hulk) that you should buy both based on your statement above.

You wrote that you will not bundle.

That is is a direct contradiction to your first statement.

You are not a serious customer.

No Dealer will sell you a Hulk at MSRP in the hopes that somewhere down the line you will buy a PM Rolex from them.

Sorry, but that is a lie anyway you look at it.

Just like it's a lie when the ad says if you buy a pm, it will move you up the queue to get a stainless steel down the road.

Same thing buddy. If the AD exersizes this kind of behavior, so can the customer.

LOL, what kind of person says they hope that someone's watch gets damaged. Some real clowns on here....

It's not a contradiction at all. I never said I was going to be bundling. That word hasn't been mentioned once. Matter of fact, I think I made it clear that people who bundle are suckers. I'm going in there to get a watch sized. Simple as that. Anything else that goes on will be based off where the AD takes it, not me.

Pretty sure I'm a serious customer if I would buy it on the spot if offered to me.

Just save everyone some time by taking your $35k elsewhere. Next.

Going to try some reverse psychology on AD next week....

Now if you bought the watch from the dealer, then yes, they should size for free.

I'm not going to do this to poke fun at them....but I'm seriously wondering what they will say. I mean, I read the forums here, too....I know they make 38% on PM models. So, again, like....what can you do for me if you want me to make that type of purchase....especially during the COVID situation? Maybe then I'll put you on MY list.

In REALITY....why would I want to pay MSRP on a PM model AND sales tax when I can literally get a lightly pre-owned one for $10k less? I'm a fan of keeping my hard-earned money....not just giving people more money for an item just to say I patronized their business. That being said, that $10k saved I would gladly spend on a Hulk if they can produce one.

I was offered a 20% discount on a PM SkyD by an AD.

Recently i got 12% off a full gold DD40 and DJ28 both president and a week later i got a Blue SkyD and in a few weeks i’ll get a blro. It has to be a two-way street.

I think the best way is to not over-think it and not feel entitled to getting popular SS models at MRSP. Instead, be a sincere customer, tell the AD you have $35k to spend but are looking for a really good deal, and specifically what you were hoping to get for it including an LV, which sounds like you’re really set on.

You can always decide whether what they offer you makes sense or not.

If your only interest is to get an LV at MRSP then you can try your luck, if it doesn’t work get one grey, the mark-up on LVs is not so high anymore.

ADs judge customers by their sincerity, especially when ‘giving away’ money in the form of a desirable watch they can sell to anyone anytime. Repeat business is the way to go, but you would only know that if you tried it.

Especially the bigger ADs, their ‘hot’ SS models have to be approved by the manager, he can’t justify selling one to someone without history.

In fact, they may think you’ve sold your TT CHNR which you showed them in 2018 for a profit in 2020 (market prices just before Covid went pretty high) and managed to get a solid gold one by adding a little bit due to depressed grey prices during Covid, so what guarantees them you wouldn’t immediately flip the LV?

Strike up a conversation with the owner, manager buy some watches for your wife that she wanted anyways (ladies watches are usually slower moving) and build a solid relationship. You’d be surprised what will happen.

But if your objective is to reverse psychology an LV out of their safe, i don’t think that’s interesting for them, even now.

My wife doesn't want a watch. Again, are most of you just not very smart with your money? It explains the multitude of threads about what this Rolex is worth and how Rolex prices relate to COVID etc.

Why would I buy stuff I DO NOT NEED OR WANT.....just to get a Rolex for MSRP? Not picking on you BumbleB as I don't think you meant bad with your post....but that prevailing attitude does people no good when they go the AD. It amazes me how many people on here do not understand this simple concept. You are the guys who are bowing down to AD's and making them think that their bad behavior is accepted. You said AD's go on people's sincerity.....when in reality, AD's go on how much you spend with them-and you imply this later in your post because you say to go buy a few "slow moving models." That's not sincerity that the AD is asking for. It's called...buy stuff that isn't moving and maybe we will let you buy something you actually want AKA you are a sucker.

$9500 MSRP Hulk....$25k of crap (Rolex or not) that I DO NOT WANT. Total to get the thing I do want? $34,500.

Or just pay a gray $12,500 and be done! $0 in crap I don't want. No watches I now have to unload because I had to take one on to get the watch I really wanted. It's like an NBA trade....we will trade you the player you want if you also take on the crappy contract of his teammate that no one wants.

Savings? $22,000. What's the real smart play here?

Look buddy, you come on here suggesting how you’re going to reverse psychology your AD out of an LV.

We, serious collectors, attempt to give you advise based on our experience and in exchange you call my collection crap that I never wanted?

Who do you think you are to assume that we’re buying stuff we don’t want?

You sir, are an incredible joker.

Go waste someone else’s time. I hope they scratch your second-hand CHNR and kick you out of their store.

Good luck.

I'm not asking for your advice (which was poor anyways).
The point of this thread was not to ask how to get a watch at MSRP. The point was to predict how any dealer might reply given it's the opposite situation of what they normally encounter (normally you have to get on THEIR list).

And, again, what's up with the hoping watches get damaged? You are like a 50-60 year old adult probably saying that. WTF?

When someone wishes a piece of property gets damaged simply because you didn't like my reply (and after I prefaced it with saying I wasn't picking on you specifically)? Yes, then my PM to you was indeed what I meant to say to you. Messages like not do not belong in a public forum, though.

What if I said I hope someone breaks into your home and steals your "serious collection". Yeah, you'd probably react the same. Lord knows if you are such a serious collector then you have likely done some serious AD a**-kissing over the years, we get it....I can see why you would be offended when I said your suggestion was moronic.

I’m early 40’s and have 12 more Rolexes than you do. And I didn’t have to flip my way to get there, I bought every single one at or below MSRP from ADs.

So what, you’re going to send a nasty message in my PM because you can’t win?

Get a life.

I will say whatever I have to say in this forum, no need for sneaky insults in PM.

You show the true nature of a coward.

I just told you why I sent that well-deserved message. BTW, I'm not really impressed that you are older than me and have a ton of Rolex watches. I don't even see the point of that. You said you are good friends with the owner of an AD in another post.....so, your point?

Maybe the scratch you posted about getting on the first day you had an incoming not long ago was karma.

Interesting reading. It reminds me of kids in a school yard bickering back and forth. I’m sure this thread will be locked or posts deleted when I wake back up later this morning.

Mjr24 many thanks for showing the community here what a low life and dbag you really are,
I’m glad it’s out for everyone to see
Trying to flaunt 35k to play games with an AD,and get something you desperately want,
As many stated on the forum, looks like you’re insincere and were never a player on pm models, glad the ad and community here see right through you ,
Maybe get a second job so you can try to afford it instead of insulting the community here,
Enjoy the hulk jpegs LoL
