It's easy miles but always pay off the balance - otherwise it's expensive miles

Cash ....

1) Secures the best dicount
2) Weirdly, always lets you move to the top of the list for very sought after watches....

Cash is King.In the past, especially in recessed times and forever

Isnt it obvious ??

Cash. But I understand not wanting to walk with a stacked wallet into an AD.

Depends on the deal. Will pay cash if there is a discount for cash. If no discount for cash I will pay by credit card to get the frequent flyer points and pay the bill in full when due to avoid unnecessary charges.

Looks like Im in the minority here, credit card, took me ages to pay it off, the interest on the cc was less than the Rolex price increases that I would have had to pay if I was saving up, would probably still be saving, did it worry me? only on the day that I paid my cc bill, the other 30 days I had my Rolex to cheer me up, Im so dissapointed that I am solely responsible for the global recession, sorry folks, Ive let the world down.

the OP asked how everyone paid, not how everyone felt about who should be able to afford luxury goods and who should not.

OP:
"When purchasing your time piece of choice, how did you make your purchase? Did you pay cash, use your credit card or finance the watch of your dreams?"

I trust that answers your question. And had you posed it that way, instead of being snotty with your comment, you would not be on my radar screen right now. And trust me, you do not want to be in my gun sights any more than you want to be in Gedanken's. After all, he learned from the master.

This will end the discussion on this matter. Am I clear? BTW, that's a rhetorical question. I don't expect or want an answer.

I paid for mine in Llamas. 600 Llamas my LV cost me...took me an age to save up that amount. You should have seen the mess.

I was tempted to either finance it or put it on my LlamaCard but I was resolute and waited until I had the Llamas in my field before I went and got it.

Now all I have to worry about is the service due in a couple of years time...20 Yaks for a replacement rubber o-ring and a case polish!!!!!!!

The prices of these watches are getting ridiculous.

Good barter I traded an old pit bull, a 79 Dodge Diploment, and 2 cases of Schlitz for my Sub Still don't know if I came out ahead. That old Dodge was almost paid for

Ed.

I don't want to tread on any toes here or incite any rows so delete this is you have to but the point folk make about not buying a luxury good if they don't have the available cash to buy is a strange one to me.

Here in the UK, I would imagine most credit card debt is amassed through expensive holidays/vacations.

People think nothing of spending £5000 on a family holiday to Florida or the Carib' and sticking it on the credit card to pay off over the next year or so.

Me? I'd much rather have a nice shiny, posh watch than a flash in the pan expensive holiday but that's just me!!!!!!

Sometimes I think the only people who get irate about people buying things on credit are those who want to maintain the perceived value of their favourite things.

I remember an old manager of mine bought a brand new BMW M3 and paid cash for it only to be disgusted when a lower paid member of staff took out a loan and bought the same model.

As long as you have what you want, why not forget about what others have or how they've paid for it and just enjoy it?

Well, I've used a CC - and enjoyed the ownership years before I would have been able to walk in and pay cash.

And to be frank, if you don't think I deserve a luxury item because I can't walk in and plunk down a stack of cash you can KMA
