Tapestry dial question

I have the opportunity to pick up a 16013 with the well known tapestry dial.
But from what year did they start making these?

Also, what is the exact dial layout and year from the movie American Psycho?

16013 with Champagne Tapestry Dial + Two Tone.

Why not just get the 16233 in the same combination? You will get the 3135 movement, sapphire crystal, and the same looks. 16013 has the acrylic crystal and older movement.

I love the older one. I have a 16013 now, but I can trade it in for the Tapestry one

Here are four different dials. Which one is the right one from the movie?

I had a day date with the tapestry. Loved it, it gave a great depth to the dial...

I had the 16233 2 tone champagne with the Tapestry dial, great watch but after trying on a 126233 (modern 2 tone DJ) I couldn't go back to the 16233 it just felt too flimsy. Otherwise, if it's your thing then by all means go for it. It's the exact one from American Psycho.

In American Psycho it was a 16013. But which one?

See me previous post. There are 4 different dial configurations. Which one is the correct one?

Why don’t you just google it? It’s a tapestry dial with stick hour markers

Again. Look at my previous post. The edge of the dial (the minute markers) has 4 different versions. Have found nothing so far online on which specific model it is

My wife has a 1997 26mm DJ with diamond bezel and Tapestry dial and it's just an awesome looking watch. You gotta love the Tapestry!

Im pretty sure its called a railroad dial as the edge of dial looks like a railroad track. So its a Champagne Tapestry Dial with railroad dial edge.

Purchased this 16013 TT Datejust in 1987.
It was my first exposure to the Tapestry dial. I thought it was different and always liked wearing this peice.
Just gifted it to my son.

Yeah that's going to be difficult to spot. The only way would be to see if there is a 4K remastered version of it and if you're lucky there is a shot which shows it clearly enough.

But even then, in movies they often use props or look-a-likes, so maybe it's not even a real Rolex. Could even be a Seiko

My first Rolex - 16220 SS Datejust with tapestry dial bought in 1989. Still have it, haven't worn in ages, now I'm going to go get it and wear it.

Like this?

I still have it. I think the Tapestry dial is subtle, but interesting.

I don’t think it´s a railroad tapestry, as these were mostly used on the 16233. I think I have the exact config from American Psycho:

16013 with Stick marker tapestry dial in champange:

Here you go:

Sorry I missed replying earlier. My comment regarding railroad is related to the minute markers that are lined at the edges this the rail road inference. The dial in the photo I commented on had the lines. If I had to describe it, a tapestry dial with railroad indices.

Personally I think the tapestry dial makes it look like a wannabe sea-master but I know I I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this...just my opinion!

Only thing better than getting one for yourself is giving to it to a loved one.
