I posted this a few days back - I really want to get mine on a leather strap. Would I need a tool to do this and where can I buy one?

You can buy the sea dweller toolkit. You can find it on ebay or AD's.

I've got one on leather (actually it's Croc)....hardly ever wear it..

If I were going to buy another leather strap, I would go with the Hirsch Leanardo series. It has a curved end and is thick and beefy so it works well with the bulk of a Sub..

The 14060 looks realyl elegant watch with a strap. Also the abcense of the cyclops makes the watch more elegant

Thanks Frostie, I get a lot of questions when I have the strap on the LV. People want to know what brand of watch is that. They're surprised when I tell them its a Rolex Submariner. I am never asked about the watch with the original bracelet and neither does anyone notice it.

Straps are probably the nicest thing about Panerai, and being an ex-panerai owner, I still have several very nice straps and miss that feature. One day I'll buy another...

cheers

I was amused one day when I walked into an AD with my Sub on the strap shown above, he visibly recoiled when he realized what it was. I think he thought it was a fake or something.

Jamie,

The heck with the AD, if the watch looks good to you, that's all that counts. I love to see my LV on the strap and I switch back and forth all the time. You know what you have on your wrist, it doesn't matter what they think, at least you got a reaction from them :)

cheers

Satisfied1999,

I bought this strap from TC Straps (http://www.tcstraps.com). This is a Toscana strap with sewn in buckle. Go to their site and look under straps for Panerai. They can get you almost any strap made in a custom size. Keep in mind that most Rolex lug spacing is 20mm. Email them and Elliot, who runs the store should be able to help you size the strap properly. There is a stunning new strap from Toscana called the Fiero and another called Arruginito...oh...so beautiful. Also check out the Mario Paci straps, probably the best made straps made today. Keep in mind most of these are very limited at they run out of hides quickly.

They also have croc straps for a dressier look.

cheers

W.

I'm interested in something like this. I too appreciate a beefy strap. Hadley Roma

Though I love the classic looks of an Oyster ss bracelet in my Subs, I have been experimenting lately with some other band material.
I found both leather bands and the so called "kevlar" ones, very nice, light and comfortable, with the additional benefit of turning you Rolex very unconspicuous, which I feel valuable while wearing my Rolex in some circumstances (e.g. not very safe neighbourhoods).

Kind regards, Abel
