I will say this about Canada Goose, if you do decide to get one do some research, the first one I got was an Expedition Parka, it was just too hot for UK weather. It was too hot to go into shops, buses and drive in, I got rid of it, I think the one I got instead was a Chateau Parker from them, still very warm but, in UK climate it is wearable.

Yes, but on their own website they rate them for the weather they are designed for. Sizing is something to pay particular attention to with regards to slim or non-slim fit. I found the user sizing information MooseJaw used when they sold them extremely helpful. Whether you wish to layer or not is also key with sizing and warmth desired. Layering is not a new concept for me since I trained in Alaska a few times. Their coldest coats are designed for layering. I just chose to purchase an Expedition without that intent, thus I sized down lower than they recommended. No layering less warmth but you'll also want to size down a bit and some miss this. Cold weather in the Mid West does not justify the Expedition that much in the last few years, might be more if I were located closer to Chicago and further north. However I have different models for various temperatures and layering isn't necessary for my climate or activities. A bomber with hood not designed for quite the cold as the Expedition and a Forester without hood as well which works rather well when not quite as cold. But standing mainly and staying warm is something the ones I purchased do real well. If in doors I definitely need to unzip them or just take them off. I've yet to become to uncomfortable in stores with them on and unzipped. It did help my first one I bought and others I looked at where in person and that worked well when buying the rest online. The removable or non-removable hood thing is something to watch for.

I legit can’t wear down parkas because I run too hot. My wife wears a Canada goose but she’s from DC and thinks 20 degrees is the arctic circle. I go out in a sweatshirt lol

My, currently, favourite wife, is a woman of a 'certain age', and the poor thing is going through one of Natures especially cruel physiological tortures, 'the hot flush'. Particularly cruel for a woman that feels a draught, when I open the 'fridge door, then, literally seconds later, will throw off almost every item of clothing that she's wearing, gasping, that "it's far too hot in here"! Poor thing.
So, with THAT in mind, we've chosen the CG Trillium. We were swung by the 'interior - backpack straps'....brilliant!
Happy wife........as they say.

Mr and Mrs Italy do some nice stuff. There are also many sales on parkas at the various online shops in UK right now depending on price point. Net a porter etc. Affordable lux high st like Sandro, Maje p, Zadig Voltaire is popular with many depending on their age too.

Canada goose stuff is worn the same way as North Face at least round here.lots of dodgy kids. I wouldn't invest in it, unless you go for the costs without the badge of honour emblazoned on the side!.

The look and the badge has typically has been the one and only knock against Canada Goose. Not so much the dodgy kid stuff you speak of but the style and they all have the badge, look the same, and all have that badge.

However the great things are the warmth, materials, and warranty you just can't find with most others you might be able to buy. Your not going to get that from a coat from North Face but you are going to have to pay more for it.

So feelings aside it really is all about the actual utility and how good they are made and that they have been known to back the product they make.

There are a lot of knock offs or counterfeits out there. That shows you how popular they have become and of course the real ones cost more than most coats. They're popularity, utilitarian look, and patch are typically the biggest negatives for their biggest of critics.
