Officer Down, Bothell PD, Washington
Police Officer Jonathan Shoop was shot and killed last night in the 10300 block of Woodinville Drive killed following a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit started at about 9:40 pm when he attempted to stop a vehicle. As the vehicle fled it struck a pedestrian and then crashed. As an occupant emerged from the vehicle, he opened fire on officers, killing Officer Shoop and wounding a second officer. The man was apprehended six hours later hiding on the roof of a nearby building. Officer Shoop was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and had served with the Bothell Police Department for one year. He is survived by his fiancée, mother, and two brothers. Godspeed my brother, may you Rest In Peace.
