The woman at the ad was very nice. We had a nice conversation. She had stated the virus had hurt the buisness as they were closed. She had a left over dd40 with face roman #s from 2019, so she might had had more room to negotiate it because she bought it at last year prices, and she stated most people want the green dial. Payment was to made by bank check only and if cash some IRS form to be submitted

I think you meant to type white face. If its a gold DD40 white face roman numerals, that's arguably the best DD40 combination IMO. That's also a great discount from the AD. While perhaps you could get it for a little less from a grey, I'd definitely pay a few hundred/thousand more for a DD40 to have: ad buying experience, peace of mind 100% authentic, know I'm the first wearer, build relationship, etc. No need to pinch pennies on a Day Date!

In all fairness, you asked for it.

You may not have thought about it very hard, but nearly everyone, everywhere and forever will interpret your screen name in the obvious way.

No reason to...so if they are willing, go for it before they go out of business...because discounting Rolex in this market is not a good look...
Have to agree.

Are these discounts normally only offered to repeat customers or can you ask for one as a new customer. I ask because my wife wants a DJ36/Jubilee/Fluted/SS and I’m a bit hesitant to pay full price +tax knowing it probably depreciates at least 10% when I walk out. Any advice for me?

Take the MSRP*0.8 to get the subtotal and then multiply that by 1.06, the result is MSRP*0.848, or a discount of 15.2%. This is how your final bill of sale should be calculated.

I'm sure a grey dealer could do better- but I am unsure that the difference would be worthwhile, since your loyalty to your AD is likely to help you get tougher-to-get pieces (even if you want one in the future).

Came here to make the same math point and glad somebody beat me to it

Well if you want that watch and prefer to buy it from an AD, then proceed quickly.

I would be concerned about them going out of business due to her comments and the discount they are offering...which is just out of the ordinary for the Rolex market....regardless of the economic issues...
