114060 Running Slow

Hello All,

Last month I purchased a 114060 brand new from my AD. Due to COVID I haven’t been able to wear my watch as much as I wanted. I usually like to wear my watches everyday, however I will throw this once on maybe every other day. However I do make sure to wind it daily. I have been noticing that it will lose about 3-4 seconds a day. I didn’t touch my watch for two days and saw that it lost 5 seconds.

Is this normal? Should I try wearing it all day straight to see how it effect timing??

Usually a watch that is actively worn, will run slightly faster than a watch that is sitting.

Movement and external forces affect the oscillation of the hairspring, which, if not swinging fully, will tick slightly faster.

As the mainspring unwinds, the accuracy becomes worse. You should keep it wound for better accuracy. Basically, wear it fully wound.

Give it some time to break in if new, I’m sure it will settle down but being slow by a few seconds is not terrible and still within spec, the whole +/- 2 SPD is nice but don’t let constantly checking it ruin the experience of ownership.

Positional resting does have an affect but on quality time pieces the variance is not that much.
