Breitling is launching a new watch tomorrow (Tuesday Aug 25) - Zoom info

For the Breitling fans out there, they are debuting a new model tomorrow (to clients only). Below are the Zoom details from my AD where an SA is going to show off the new piece for us, if anyone wants to join at 11am ET feel free! They gave me the ok to share with TRF friends. Should be interesting. Not sure if it’s a new diver or what.

The Breitlight material is actually very comfortable on the wrist and I’m glad to see them bring it back. I’m not a huge fan of the watch they brought it back on, but it’s still nice to see them use this material again.

In May of 2018 Georges did and interview with Celine Yap of the Singapore edition of the Robb Report, In the article he mentions why he stopped production of the Sky Racer. The following is a quote from the article.

"Our example, the Sky Racer which I’m stopping. This is where I think we made a mistake. I agree many other brands are going too low at their level. This is image damaging. We have to be careful. That’s why I’m also stopping the Chrono Colt in quartz. I want to be competitive in my segment where I have the credibility and acceptance. Every brand has to be in the right segment and acceptance in its own category."

Following his thinking one would think that the Sky Racer, priced at $2000, was damaging to the Breitling image. I guess if you add a Chrono function, a little bit of color and market it to those competing in ironman/woman competitions then that is fine for the Breitling image.

In my opinion this is just another example of Kearns looking to pump and dump. I would be willing to wage that these watches will be available for a significant discount within six months! My decision to sleep in here on the East coast is looking better and better!

I really like them. To me, they have the same vibe as the original Tag Heuer F1 watches of the early 90s. Only difference being Tag Heuer F1 watches were fun, carefree watches to have partly due to their cost - approximately £125 back in the early 90s. I can’t help but feel these Breitlings are overpriced for what they are.

Hah I was like blech when I saw the release. Was picking up a link from my dealer and he showed me these. I actually like it. I feel like a breitling shill. My first two nice watches were breitlings but haven't had one in a decade. I'm actually thinking of an orange one down the road.

Saw the orange one at an AD and really like it in person. Great alternative to my other SS sport pieces.
