Your thoughts on Swatch

I've only owned one and that too a very basic one .. one of those plastic swatches. I want to add a swatch chronograph to my collection. Just wanted to read your views on Swatch craftmanship. Or should I just spend the money somewhere else.

At the moment I own a Seiko Alarm Chronograph, Citizen Eco Drive Calibre Drive, and a Time Expedition. And I'm saving separately to buy a Tag or Rolex.

They are nice watches for the money....
Craftsmanship??? It is a mass produced machine made watch
so there isn't much craftsmanship in it. They are reliable but
won't run forever....

Saving to buy a Tag OR Rolex??? Real simple, save for the Rolex....
A Tag and a Rolex are not in the same class....

Yea someone else on this forum told me to quit saving for a tag and just get a rolex. i want the simplest R - Submariner in stainless steel. I think I can get it for $4000, or atleast I'm hoping.

To be exact I want the Rolex Submarine Model#16610.

My thoughts on Swatch watches- What Swatch may lack in "hand craftsmanship" they have made up for in artistic expression. No other watch that I'm aware of has pushed the boundries of the accepted veiw of what a watch should look like. With their reasonable prices Swatch put "Swiss" timepieces the wrists of millions. They're cool, fun and deserve due recognition for the impact that they have had on world pop culture. As for Swatch's current pieces, I would wear one and a smile.
