Phone ringing all day ......

Got my email to confirm my request for a new sub lv this morning .

Finally got to speak to my AD at 3.35pm today

They have had 107 registered interests in the new sub range (all variants)

So far for the other new launches 0

If all 107 stick around that’s a 14 year wait list

What a joke .......

I might have to wait for this one as I have just had a sky dweller blue off them

Was it a larger chain store or a small independent? If the latter that’s even crazier.

My contact at NYC AD said phone has been ringing nonstop. Strong demand on all new Sub models (everything from obvious SS to Bluesy and YG and WG variants). Also said he's been surprised by the # of calls they've been getting on the new OPs as well ("Tiffany" blue model has been getting a lot of interest). New SkyD on OF did not come up in conversation. Not sure what they were thinking on that one when I first saw it. I'm all for OF + PM models, but feel like you need some ceramic in the bezel to pull together a cohesive look. OF with a fluted bezel just seems like a clash of aesthetics to me...

Your AD only gets approx 7.5 submariners a year?

I feel bad for Rolex salesmen who will have to explain the same answer to 100 people daily for the next few months.

Oh fun. I texted one of my ADs and emailed another, both of my contacts are out of office. Guess I'll be number 2506 when they get back in lol.

I don’t know what you guy are talking about, I walked in to my AD this morning and purchased two subs, the new SD, and an OP, all just sitting in the case.

... ..

..... .....

OK, so I’m a liar

Crazy. Wonder if it dies down. I was able to get a brand new bluesy 116613 in the display a few months ago. Sat out for a few days. Not NYC.

I had no joy with a few UK ADs today made out they were not aware of the models and call back next week

Why make a product you can’t even buy unless you buy from a grey dealer

Good to hear no one's interested in the other releases.

As someone else asked, is your dealer independent or a WOS Group-type branch?

7.5 models a year?

Must be a lot of margin in these models, or now we know why you have to buy so much jewellery and other watches because the core Rolex sales aren’t keeping the lights on.

The best one I heard today was we’ve not seen any new models that have been released, come on I’m sure you got the memo last week. Oh let me check your own Website and guess what it shows the new models yet you are not aware of them

There is more demand for this than for the long WIS awaited Daytona C, but then we have had a few years of hype and SM to turbo boost demand.

I too went in to my ad today and it’s nonsense. Everything new is going to be wait listed according to them. They’ve had plenty of interest for the OPs as well as the subs. WOS.

They are used to it. Been doing it for Y-E-A-R-S now.

Sure glad I do not have to be a Rolex salesperson.

I talked to the store manager at my AD today. He said every call was for the new sub. I was the first request for an OP. I am getting the turquoise blue for my wife.

You are not behind 107 people. You are behind, or above, anyone the AD places you.

If I ran an AD, and someone who has spent a lot/developed a good working relationship, calls me 2 years from now and says “still loving the gold SkyDweller and platinum day date, any chance you get me a new sub?” I would certainly not say “well since you didn’t call me on sept 1 right away, you are behind Tom Whatshisname who rang me up promptly on sept 1”

My point: don’t think you will wait 14 years. And if you really do, just go grey.

Generally speaking, Rolex AD’s get far more watches through than they let on. The bad ones prey on customer naivety.
