Looks like FCA is going the grey watch dealer route to manage their retail strategy.

I’m a huge Jeep brand fan, but this attempt screams of the VW Phaeton flop in the mid 2000s in North America. No one wanted to pay that much for a VW. Will anyone pay this much for a Jeep?

Jeep guy here. Well wrangler at least. And this is a hard pass for me. At $60k with some discounts/rebates I am a lot more interested. But not at Lexus LX money.

Not a fan of any FCA products. I get the wrangler but everything else I don’t understand why anyone buys them. They will be one of the first to fall.

I chose a three row because it's the three row that not unlike the bigger car of days gone by that gives someone like me at 6' 3" the personal cabin space I find much more enjoyable, less confining, and the greater flexibility to transport more items or people. I'm not that big but I do like a little more space at my height. Not unlike smaller cars the smaller SUV just doesn't appeal to me and I don't like being cramped or having to squeeze into a vehicle.

Fiat
What can you add to that ? Fiat tried to market their cars in the US twice, lack of sales due to reliability and quality issues forced withdrawal. So they buy Chrysler, which had questionable quality and reliability at best, mix in some proven Fiat failure, and try for the third time. The Jeep brand has been allowed operate somewhat independent, but word in the industry is that Fiat is now becoming more involved ......................... failure will follow.

I don’t see it as a ‘Jeep’.

The difference is the Phaeton ended up being a spectacular car. This will just be a 100k pile. I mean hell, Ford and GM can barely get above a 45 or whatever from consumer reports regarding quality on their big luxo utes.... no way FCA can top a 12. That company produces two good products. The wrangler and gladiator. The rest should be driven straight from the transport truck to the scrap yard. |

A future failure and a real no go at 100K. Jeep should do what they do best and focus on refining that product and getting a larger share of the market. I have owned several Grand Cherokees over the years and the best I can say is they are fine. They are not on the same level as the Lexus products. I have owned a high end Range Rover HSE and while the styling is great and the curb appeal high, it is a real poorly manufactured vehicle. I will never own one again. I currently have a 2020 LX570 which had a sticker of around 104K and it is the best vehicle in this class I have ever owned. That is the bench mark. Chrysler, go home.

I foresee a lot of tobacco juice on the tires at the local feed store.

Realistically I’m sure many will be optioned around that level Brian. The dealers have to know the market. I feel like the kind of buyers who have 100k to spend know the wrangler is the Jeep product to have.

Any family with 3 kids... pretty big market as minivans sales have dramatically declined due to the SUV craze.

Love the full roof panoramic glass top. The rear quarter looks like it was an after thought. The screens seemed like someone said 'how many can we cram in there'.
The big issue I see with this is at that price point you still have to take it to a Jeep dealer for service.

I agree for the most part. It looks like a Lincoln, a Jeep Renegade and a suburban had some crazy weekend and this is what came out 9 months later. Those rear side windows are hideous. Then Jeep decides to put the ugliest steering wheel I’ve ever seen and then use that theme twice on the dash. I’d rather get a decent original wagoneer, restore it from the ground up, possibly add some creature comforts and come out with a timeless, capable SUV that will last many a decade for 50-60k. The BIGEST DRAW for me with the SUV over a car is it makes it much easier for this old man with bad knees and a bad back to get in and out of.

It seems the only people driving them are Limo/airporter companies which made me wonder about the 3rd row seat concept. As others have pointed out if you have kids I guess it can make sense. I agree Jeep is not really a luxury car company so 100 grand for one seems like a stretch. Ba Dum Bum

Ours is a dog limo. The back seats are always folded down so there is lots of room for nose art on the windows and plenty of sniffs out the window. I'm 6'4 and surprised you need more legroom than standard SUVs. Our hot rod Lincoln MKX seem fine.

Jeep totally blew it with this one, there was so much potential and they just dropped the ball.
