Looks generic. A mishmash of so many different watches, incl Explorer 1, Yachtmaster. Not feeling this one, although I like the Oris 65

Don't like that Oris.

Talking my own book I would recommend taking a look at the IWC Mark XV on the pyramid bracelet as an alternative for the Explorer 1, unless you have to buy new that is. Both great tool watches, but the IWC can be had for a relative bargain preowned and it is the last pre-Richemont Pilot. Using it as a daily the date comes in handy as well IMO.

The Oris shown is not for me. I like the brand but not this watch. Tudor Ranger is a strong alternative.

My Tudor Ranger has been faithfully working with me for a few years now. It makes for an easy strap monster with it's lug holes case but I usually just love the retro look and solid comfortable feel of it's characteristic open end link bracelet.

I have been eyeballing the new Longines Hydroconquest with Ceramic bezel, it has the feel of the explorer with a slightly larger case size. (I prefer the wolf grey one)

I'm fortunate to own a Explorer and a Submariner.... I did look at a Tudor Ranger 79910 and discovered after buying a Tissot Sea star that they both have a ETA 2824-2 movement, like Oris its an affordable workhorse that should be given serious consideration, ( I have switched out the second's hand as this was not to my liking) good luck with your choice.

Black Bay 36/41 and the Tudor ranger are probably the most obvious choices for a gada simple design that avoids diver bezel and is made of quality. Both can probably be had for great bargains. I would go for either of those over an Oris and definitely they will be better than Longines.

I had a Hydroconquest and loved it to death but after wearing nicer watches I realize how uncomfortable it was. Crown guards kept digging into my hand. I don't know if the newest model has fixed this crown guards issue. Again, I would suggest BB36 or the Tudor ranger.

I was in the same shoes, bought the Sinn 556i and Tudor Ranger.. but he itch for an Explorer remained.. My advice is, if you want an Explorer wait (years even) and get the watch you want. You'll lose money chasing down the Explorer but buying alternatives..
