Left or Right?

In my left hand!!! I have tried to wear it in my right hand more than 10 years ago, but I gon't fuction well at work, home or even while driving.

I have a dominant left hand.

When I first got my GMT Master, 22 years ago, I tried alternating it on both wrists to see which felt better.

It ended up on my left wrist because in my work I can more easily look at my left wrist than my right wrist.

That said, about a month ago I decided to move the watch to my right wrist; and I don't know why.

Now, given the prevalence of automatic watches, it seems to make more sense to me to protect the crown of the watch by pointing it "up arm," and, the watch feels more comfortable to me, without the crown digging into the back of my hand.

I would think that manufacturers of watches would put the crown on the left side of the watch, the nine o'clock position, in order to protect the crown for right-handed wearers, and to make the watch more comfortable for right-handed wearers.

But then, I think most right-handers do not like doing things with their left hand, and, with the crown on the left, right-handers would need to use their left hand in order to set their watch.

If I had a manual-wind watch, and especially a manual-wind watch with no crown guards, I would want to wear it with the crown "up arm," and, in that case, the position of the crown would determine which wrist for me.

Interestingly, when I switched my watch to my right wrist, it became a "new watch" for me, and I found myself looking at it more appreciatively for a while.

Try putting your watch on the other wrist, just to see it "new."

I am left handed but wear my watch on my left. The crown digs into your right arm. I have seen a photo of a submariner that had the crown on opposite side once.

How interesting.

The raises the question, could one not rotate the watch face 180 degrees and thus move the crown to the other side?

And, therefore, could one not have the crown on either side, as one prefers?

I write with my right, and I watch my left , it's something i've done since I starting wearing watches on my left, right/correct.

Also the crown is easier to use while the watch is worn on your left.

Here is a photo of a left hand comex Sea Dweller. Not sure if it is real. Neat if it is. I guess all you would have to do is turn the dial 180 degrees.

Left handed and wear on my right wrist. Almost always, if you spot a watch on the right wrist, the person will be left handed.

I wear my watch on my left wrist. I have a 52mm watch and the crown use to leave marks on my wrist. I wore that one my right wrist.
