Need some advice...
So, my lovely wife bought me a Hulk for a graduation back in 2011. We also had our first child in 2011, so that watch is going to be his college graduation present one day. We had another boy in 2013, so naturally I needed to buy another watch that would one day be his college graduation present; Abby bought me a Heritage Black Bay. Years have gone by, and in usual "me" fashion, I have never had either watch serviced. I noticed my sub losing significant time about 6 months ago, so I have been wearing the BB since. Tonight, I somehow caught the bezel of the BB under a shelf and the entire bezel assembly went flying. Arrrrgh!
We now live in rural Wyoming, my work partner recently retired, and I am the sole anesthesia provider at our hospital until they find me another partner. I am on call 24/7/365 until I get another partner, and the closest towns that MIGHT have a Rolex dealer are 1.25 and 1.75 hours away...so I can't travel there. My wife can take the watches into Fort Collins, Colorado if I find that Cheyenne and Casper do not have Rolex dealers. So...I obviously need both repaired and serviced...and I realize that I'll likely have a significant sticker shock when all is said and done. My question is this...what exactly do I need to do? Do I just take these to an AD and know that they will take care of it? Do I need to ask them to do anything special? Will an AD deal with it in house, or will the watches be sent off for repair/refurbish. I figure I will be sporting my G-shock for at least a few months...can anyone hazard a guess on just how long I can expect to be swiss-less. Thanks in advance. |

I’m sure someone more experienced will chime in here, but in the meantime, if your preference is to have RSC handle it, you can send directly to them without going through an AD. Just call them up and they’ll send you an email with their (fairly rigorous) shipping/packaging procedures. Good luck, and keep us posted on how it goes.
EDIT: I should clarify that I have only used this method for warranty service. I can only presume it would work the same way for non-warranty service/repair. Oh, and by the way, awesome plan on passing those two pieces to your sons.

Absolutely use Rolex! And FYI, one of the singular greatest ‘Dad’ moments I’ve had was, upon the night of my son’s college graduation, passing down to him to very first Rolex I ever owned (Datejust two tone jubilee). The emotions put the watch to shame. Good for you! Right now I’m working on grandkids

I usually send my watches to RSC through my AD. After a couple of days, my AD will send me Rolex's quote for service and wait for my go-ahead.
If I give the green light, the waiting time to get the watch back in my AD is typically 3-4 weeks. I then collect from their premises (which are nearer my home than the RSC) and pay them. Hope you manage to get your watches fixed ASAP. Good luck! |

I can tell you no ADs in Cheyenne, Casper or Fort Collins. If you choose to go that route you will need to come to the Denver area.

Contact the Rolex Service Center in Dallas. They are where all Tudors are repaired and they do a very good job with Rolex. They will provide you with the information on how to get them the watches and follow it, no variation or they will not accept the watches. They will check the watches and let you know what need to be done and the cost. You will authorize it and the repairs will be done. The best thing is you cut the middleman out so you get the information directly about the watches. Should be a 4-6 week wait and the watches will be back. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

**This a great idea! And it helps the SO with the rationale to keep the watch in stock for a good long time** |

If you take your watch to a Dealer, you may need to specify that you want it shipped out to the RSC if that is your desire.
Many of them will have watchmakers that they use locally, or corporately. Know ahead of time so you are not surprised. As to saving watches for kids 20 years down the line, we have two adult children that were gifted Rolex watches, and they don't ever wear them. One wears her Apple watch because "everybody else does", and the other doesn't want to wear a watch at all. I figure that in another 20 years they will be adding implants and have heads-up displays on their eyeballs.

Solid advice as per above.
Your hospital needs to find you a partner or 4. That sounds rough. Hang in there and thanks for your services. |

Sorry to hear about your impending period without Rolex/Tudor; others have shared solid advice re: servicing. The bright side of being down to your G-Shock is that it won’t get damaged by any freak accidents. Hang in there at the hospital!

You may be able to find an AD with an in house watchmaker. This would likely be your best bet as one could probably fix the BB bezel onsite. You should call around and inquire.
This could be done while dropping the hulk off for full RSC service and may enable you to keep wearing the BB while the hulk is out for service. Good luck! I’d hate to part with two for service at the same time like this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
