Put it on your wrist. You will know if it belongs there. The vast majority of people do not notice your watch. Don’t worry about what other people think.

What matters is what you think. Are you going to be thinking about your watch, all of the time? Is it too flashy for you? Yours is the only opinion that matters. It is just a watch.

A common phrase on this forum is “wear the watch, don’t let it wear you.” If the watch is wearing you, then it is too flashy. If you wear the watch, then enjoy it!

While I have several different watches, I wear my 116613LB a majority of the time. I wear it with everything from suits to bathing suits! I Love It!

Blessings.

It is a beautiful watch, but it is definitely "flashy". I think it also carries the stigma of being the Submariner "available", as they are substantially easier to get even relative to a SS. All of that aside, it is still arguably one of the best two tone watches made and it is shines.

Seriously why do so many ppl have self confidence issues around here? Surely as a grown man/woman you can stand tall and confident on your own two feet.

I wear my FULL gold pieces with shorts/tshirts/flip flops whatever the heck I feel like. Who cares what other ppl think - I can afford these toys so I'm sure heck am going to enjoy them fully.

This.

Wore a Bluesy for 10 years as my daily. I worked in the entertainment and recording industry so a bit flashy fit right in. I think the TT Bluesy is a extension of your personality and can easily be worn from the beach to the business if you are confident in what your personal style is.

Maybe that’s the reason I can never warm up to it and can’t put my finger on it. Think it looks good in pictures but every time I have tried it on It doesn’t work for me. And I love a flashy watch.

are you living life for others?
Or are you living life for You!

People here sound like they don't want to hurt others feelings...what about your feelings
you wear clothes, jewelry, shoes, cars, homes, hobbies, vacations, anything of value that YOU work for. you work hard for what you have...not that you are showing off...you like nice things....because you like them...so the hell with the haters...
There are people in your life that will lift you up and those that want to bring you down...

Wear in good health my friend.....

Amen. And what are the consequences? You might "offend" somebody because you wear a shiny metal watch? Gimme a break! Folks here will buy multi-million dollar houses, 100K+ SUV's and cars? What is the difference? You need to apologize to society for being successful?

I wear my bluesy often. Love it and was a grail watch when young. Recently, I do give consideration to optics if a situation warrants humility. I keep a Seiko vintage diver and Hamilton khaki in the stable for such occasions. Do I care what others think, no. Do I want to rub it in their face, also no. So, wear a bluesy in good health but understand it is not invisible.

I don't think thats the reason. Some people want to be low key. That's all. They want to enjoy a "decent" watch for themselves and don't like the attention that something more flashy would bring.

I know several people who are like that.

We all have different tastes and value different things.

Lots of great posts on this thread, what a pleasure to browse.

It was a subject for me but I don't care anymore, I managed to reason with myself. A person who knows it will recognize any rolex, ss, TT or PM, absolutely any model is easily recognizable so in the end like the brand of your car, the beautiful front of your house, the beautiful maintained garden , your clothes chosen with care ect ... and the critics will criticize no matter what ... whether it is the watch, the car, the house, your way of speaking, your skills ... it does not change anything at all.
The only difference with a ss is that it is very beautiful, beautiful colors, it is out of the ordinary like a golden $ 100 noname.

SOOOOOOOOOO wear it i LOVE this ref
Ordered !

Its flash but so what lol - look at instagram - it's full of vacuous flashy b*llocks with almost every post and Rolex is probably the worse for it.

But its a beautiful watch and if you are confident to wear it then do so - like it has been said here already - you shouldn't have to apologise for having nice things and being able to afford them. And you shouldn't not wear it for fear of upsetting people that might have lost their jobs because of covid etc.

All just my opinion.

I'm one of those people who think the bluesy is not flashy enough .. on my shopping list is a TT sub with a serti dial .. (blue bezel / yellow gold TT)

the diamonds will hopefully make it flashy enough.

You wear the watch, the watch doesn't wear you.

one more thing -- if anyone is worried about flashing a luxury lifestyle .. i think people notice other things more than watches..

like the car you drive..

my neighbors probably notice the two teslas sitting on my driveway more than they notice my watch.

Get what you want and what you will enjoy, not sticking to that and worrying what other people think takes the enjoyment out of the hobby and life!

As others have said many notice things like cars and houses before watches. honestly there are so many gold PVD watches out there, many people won't notice unless you're a WIS.

I honestly can’t believe all the posts here by people saying who cares what anyone else thinks, who cares what your employer thinks, who cares what your colleagues think. Not everybody works from home in their pajamas.

Many people, most people, do have to consider interpersonal social interactions in the workplace and how they may affect others people’s perception of you. Because often other people’s perception of you can directly affect your financial or professional success, in fact I would guess that’s most people.

So to totally discredit that and claim people who want to dress commensurate with their workplace, employment environment or even social situation are somehow weak or lacking confidence is extremely naïve. Incredibly naive.

I have 8k watches and 64k watches. Some less expensive watches look more expensive than they are and vice versa. Some draw more attention than others irregardless of value.

I definitely choose what I’m wearing based in part on what I want to wear that day, the occasion, and the people I’ll be around. I’m more likely to wear my nicest watches on vacation than in some business environments. That’s called smart. Situationally aware. Not in the slightest weak.

Carry on.

It would be interesting to poll the ages of those that consider optics and those that do not care.

Whoa hombre. You wear your expensive watches on vacation where you’re not familiar with the environment or the areas you’re in but you won’t wear them around work because your boss/coworkers may feel threatened?

I work with many that wear Rolex and aren’t WIS. They just wear it because it’s a Rolex. I also wear it around guys making less than $15 an hour. Neither of the groups mentioned nor those in between have so much as batted an eyelash towards an ill thought, it’s been extremely positive for the guys that are working the lower paying jobs because they know I started out where they are. It’s almost like if they listen and work hard they too can attain what they think is unattainable. For the people that are jealous or think ill of your watch maybe you should tell them to work harder or work harder yourself so something as petty as your watch doesn’t get you passed up for a promotion.

Clients I can see the point and that’s a different story, however if any of them stated I’ll feelings about my watch I would elaborate on how I got it. Which is a story I expect many a client would appreciate. You may have earned yours differently, so my solution may not work for you as each of our stories are different.

Interesting opinion. I actually see it as the other way around lately. It’s the really young crowns that seems to be more “blinged” than the older. When is the last time time you saw a retired individual with an iced out Watch or big chain with medallion?

Everyone here is watch-centric but the average person doesn't care. You should be fine with a bluesy in any office setting.

If your boss gives you a 3% raise instead of 5% because of your Rolex then he/she doesn't like you.

Maybe you should read what I said again, now and ten years from now. Awful lot of assumptions you made that are both 100% wrong and don't remotely relate to what I said. But as I thought about taking the time to point them out to you I realized that it would be a complete waste of my time. A realization made all more clear by the even more absurd assumptions and insults in your next reply.

Glad you have it all figured out and glad that you know all there is to know about everyone.

I personally don't think so, at all. A lot of people wear a yellow gold DD 36 or DD 40 daily (casually and otherwise), which to me is a much more flashy watch, overall, than a Bluesy, and it's more than fine. As others have noted, though, you need to find your own comfort zone for enjoying your beautiful watch and wear it in a way that best suits you.

You as well, including your assumptions on how others feel about a watch someone wears.

If the trust fund comment offended you I was probably spot on so I’m confused on what insults I spat your way?

Please let your watches sit happily in a safe away from threatening anyone in good health!!
