Rolex recent service turnaround...
Hi all,
Earlier last year, right after the pandemic hit, my 2019 DJ 41 start losing some time. I spoke to Rolex about it, who advised waiting because the turnaround for service was much longer than normal. However, my watch is now losing between 20 - 30 seconds a day, so I'm a little concerned about waiting much longer. Anyone have recent experience with Rolex's recent service turnaround speed? Thanks! |

I took my new to me 16710 to RSC London for a service on Dec 7 and was told at the time to expect it back after the new year.
However, it was completed 2 weeks later. Upon speaking to the technician when picking up the watch, she told me that given the current situation, they weren't that busy and so the turnaround is much quicker as the watch spends less time sitting around. YMMV |

Maybe your watch is just magnetised, and it’s an easy and quick fix at local watchmaker

I’m sure the Dallas RSC which is likely where your watch will go took a couple weeks off for the holiday. I’d probably wait a month or so to give them time to get caught up.

Is this possibly another 32xx lubrication issue?

That’s not worth waiting for a 6 month turnaround IMHO. You’ll just reset it every other day and not be without it. Are you concerned the movement will perish? There won’t be any cost associated since the warranty lasts until 2024. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Just dropped my 5 digit sub off for a freshen up mostly to be sure its seals are still up to snuff. Was told to expect 8 weeks.

I was quoted roughly $1,000 total with overhaul, replacement of bridge and crystal. Was quoted for 8 weeks but picked it up in 6. Was absolutely satisfied with the outcome. BEFORE: AFTER:

The perception that a watch only runs fast when magnetized is a proven fallacy.
Mostly they do run fast due to springs sticking from being magnetized, but most modern watches have non-magnetic springs. There are other movement issues with magnetism that CAN cause timing to be slow. You could check for a suspect magnetized watch by using a compass or a phone app. And as always - Rolex will address it under warranty. I suspect that there is a movement [lube?] issue that has nothing to do with magnetism.
