36mm daydate

Im just about to turn 31 and have always loved the solid gold daydate. I very rarely dress in anything smarter than jeans and a tshirt. Do you think a daydate is to flash or could i get away with it. Any photos would be appreciated.

If you like it wear it. Be it with a suit or with swimming trunks.

I regularly wear my 36mm YG DD when in swim shorts and a t-shirt.
Go for it! It's an iconic watch that can be worn with anything.

It’s the icon that goes with everything. I would love one, one day.

I recently owned one, I don’t think it’s too flash but I do think it’s too small, I sold it for that reason

I just sold my 118238 yellow gold for the 118206 platinum. I wear both of them to the gym, to work, pretty much everywhere.

Going from one heavy watch did you not a big difference in weight?

I was surprised how heavy this thing is. The platinum is significantly heavier than the 18K gold variant on the wrist. I keep describing it as it feels like I have an ankle weight around my wrist. Took a couple hours to really get used to it.

Yes, but I love the added weight. Rarely wear my SS watches as a result

I wear my DD40 with gym clothes all the time. I'll echo what's stated above, the DD36 is much too small for me.

I have actually seen once a young gentleman your age wearing a gold datejust (yeah, not a daydate, but the older datejust in solid gold), in a very casual jeans and tshirt.

I liked it a lot. It looked pretty cool and stylish on him (given his young age.)

On me, it would look like an old car salesperson trying to impress, but on him, looked very cool.

I wear it one with everything but suits to be honest. When I dress up I tend to wear a watch with leather strap.

It might depend on your style a bit, but a well-cut and properly fitting pair of jeans (with any decent T-shirt/polo/button-up) is hard to beat, and very doable with a YG DD. I’m pushing 40, and a fairly slender build, so i wear my fluted/champagne DD36 with casual clothes regularly. I think my 118206 is actually easier to “daily,” as it doesn’t garner the visibility of YG. But the underlying principle is that if your look already appears well-put-together, you’ll be totally fine.

I’ve been on here a year and a half and I still don’t know how to post a picture- otherwise I would! If someone could tell me about that, I’d be much-obliged!

It comes down to your wrist size bro.
36 is a tad bit small for me 40 seems to be a sweet spot.

Well-said. At ~6.5”, the classic 36s (other than my tool watches) work better for my portions, where they don’t for others. Good thing they make a size for everyone!

I almost never dress up, and love to wear my daydateII YG white roman dial with shorts or jeans. You have to wear the watch, not let the watch wear you.

I wear my DD almost daily. I went platinum because I personally feel a fluted bezel makes it dressy (I know others feel different). The Platinum is low key compared to gold which I like. I can wear this with a suit or sweatpants and t shirt. This watch can pair up well with anything. I don’t wear my sports models that much anymore because of this watch.

Try downloading tapatalk. Its easy to post pics that way. I found out that my pics are too big of a file to upload if you use the website off your phone. Even on my desktop, I have to shrink the size of my pic in order to post. Tapatalk works great with my iphone with no playing around with the size of the pic.

Thank you for the info, good sir. It’d do me good to look into that. And might I just say that your 228206/motif is unreal (the meteorite GMT isn’t shabby, either!)?!

I am < 40 and wear my RG DD40 with anything and everything. I realize RG is a bit more subdued than YG, but wear what makes you happy.

What an amazing piece. This is my grail watch. What is the weight of this beauty and is it heavy on the wrist? Would really appreciate if you could share your experience wearing it.

You get to wear it with whatever you want. It’s a great watch, and I sure you will love it. I used to wear a YG DD and I loved it. I now wear a RG DD and I really love it. It is a bit less noticeable, and I like that. There’s a lot of shatter about 36 or 40, IMHO, which ever someone is comfortable with, is what they should wear. To be clear, the 36 has been around a lot longer than the 40, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Just my opinion.

My meteorite GMT is a forever keeper once it hit my wrist. I tend to want only a few watches in my collection and decided to trade up/sell my SS pieces to land both PM watches (blue skydweller, explorer, DJ41, bluesy). Definitely do not regret anything... maybe the blue skydweller, but TBH it was just too bulky for my liking and a few other things.
