My first Rolex! - ref.6429 COMMANDO
Wasn’t in love with the aftermarket bracelet that it came with so a nato OD green Strap from craft and tailored is on the way!

I like that model and congrats. But a couple of clarifications...
The actual Commando script came on models sold by A&F. I suppose PX’s may have had some but not an exclusive. https://www.rescapement.com/blog/wha...rolex-commando All said, it’s a nice model to get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Either way it’s a good place to start. When you get it opened for authentication (yes, don’t trust the seller ) you should know if the right caseback is on it and all is correct inside.
Sometimes a surprise is waiting inside. It should be a manual wind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

That’s a great backstory - I thought you might have bought it from a dealer. It’s not a bad idea to be on the lookout for donor movements for their parts. I’ve had to do that for my Dad’s old Omega to rebuild and refit the original movement once already. The parts are no longer being made. Almost anything can be fabricated by a master watchmaker, but costly due to the hours of work involved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
