I’d love to see it come back, but I’d prefer it on a jubilee. If it’s offered on a jubilee, I’m texting my AD on Day 1 and asking for one of each, gold and steel.

Don’t think so. Would be a competition to the Daytona

This would be so cool!

A new hot model that I’m not at all interested in to distract the masses. Maybe then I could get the SS I’ve been asking for ....

More likely to be launched by Tudor than Rolex

If they do something like this i think we’d see some type of command ring similar to the sky d and YM2.

This is the direction that the celini line should take. It's complicated, pretty and has heritage vibe with modern functionality.

Horrible, not interested.

If you want something like this but done right, which look amazing, get a JLC, ALS or Patek.

Yes the were great watches in there time but it's funny all these types of movement were not Rolex made but made by ETA Valjoux which many today would say low end.And some of the facts are not all 100% correct in the reading script. As it was a guy called John Harwood from the Isle of Man UK, he in 1923 took out a UK/World patent for the first truly automatic winding wrist watch. And he went on with backing to produce many thousands of these watches, but mainly owing to the very hard industrial depression in the mid 1920s to 1930s in the UK he went broke and out of business .Now old Hans Wilsdorf of Rolex being a very clever but very shrewd man bought and took up this auto-winding patent for the Rolex Watch Company. Who in the early years were not watchmakers, that was more on the Aeglar movement side of the company. The RWC in the very early 1930s incorporated the John Harward design into the oyster designed case the rest is history of the RWC over the years.

Excellent info, if memory serves me correctly, did Rolex at one point claim to have invented the automatic movement only to then have to backtrack and acknowledge John Harwood's initial design, or have I got my facts wrong?

Honestly, I don't expect any significant changes in their design
