I was the first time I'd been in there in years, definitely since before the remodel. I was devastated to learn they don't carry Panerai anymore. Closest we've got is Chicago now.

I'm about to buy a Bell & Ross ceramic diver for use most often at my lake house on the boat. I could absolutely use my Submariner for this purpose, and do sometimes. That said, I want something that is even less concerning (from a value standpoint) to expose to rougher conditions. I like the rubber band and the ceramic case...simple as that.

I have and have had lots of different brands over the years.
While I'm still in a position to get Rolex sports models at retail price I have focused on Rolex
There's lots of other brands watches I like the look of right now but I cant justify to myself the 40-50% devaluation as soon as I walk out of the dealers so I'm sticking with Rolex

Would you turn down a Patek Nautilus at RRP?

I love my Rolexes and other brands, but the other brands I won’t purchase anywhere close to msrp. In 2014 Omega issued a new Speedmaster Mark ii , I really wanted one . Last year I found an 8 month old model that looked unworn . I paid 3600. , that’s the way I buy non Rolex watches .

In my box currently I have two Rolex, two Omega, an Oris, four Seikos, and a gaggle of microbrands.
To me being held to only one brand would be very boring.
Well said, buy what YOU like and maintain your OWN sense of style. I currently have Rolex, Tag Heuer, Girard Perregaux, Orient and Fredrique Constant.

It’s all those MBA’s.

WTF were they thinking, is what I ask myself when looking at display cases at dealers.

80% of the production models of 80% of the brands could disappear tomorrow, and no one would miss then.

I use a BR03-92 military ceramic for years for on-duty work as well as hard core woods applications and it has performed flawlessly. Better yet the watch still looks brand new. I had its eta movement regulated to a +2 seconds a day. It’s rock solid.

I'm in line with 'buy what you like' as you can see from my list below.

Of course, I feel my TT Sub is the best of my humble collection. I like the idea of owning various brands as they all have their strengths.

Well yes, I would, because while I can easily afford one I just don't like it! Now a Calatrava is another kettle of fish altogether...!
