Czapek info

Anyone seeking info on these watches can PM Mike Margolis. He can answer any of your questions about Czapek . and he is a wonderful guy to talk to with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to watches.
He has a reply above to this original thread.

Beautiful watch.

Awesome write up.

You’re punching in a price point above me, but I appreciate your experience with different marques and the ridiculousness of the (lack of) customer appreciation despite the willingness to drop five digits on a watch. Nothing better than seeing business owners passionate about their creations.

But! Has it passed the “freezer” test?

I think this thread is going to cost me a lot of money! I’ve been reading everything I can find about the Antarctique and starting to plan how I might get one later in the year. I do hope they come up with a micro adjust clap though.

I’m planning on 2022 to get an Antarctique. This year I’m waiting on my Snoopy 50.

Thanks guys!

Not the freezer quite yet, but it has been found at the bottom of the bath...

When mine arrives, I'll update.

I love the Snoopy, and that new Speedie movement is a knock-out. What spec are you planning on the Antarctique?

I'm thinking either blue dial full red seconds hand and blue rubber strap or white dial with red tip at 12 removed and plain steal seconds hand with grey rubber. I have time to decide.

Mine says hello! Agree with the review! Awesome watch. I’ve owned the 5711 as well as AP Jumbo and this watch is truly as good but honestly has a much more technically advanced and beautiful movement! It’s so unique

Absolutely beautiful! Most of those cropping up on social media tend to be the blue dial, and understandably so. The wrist-rolls really demonstrate the way the colour and finish plays with the light.

I'd be really interested to know how the 99-piece Terre Adelie release split colour-wise.

They both sound great, but I'm a sucker for a white dial...

I hear the White dial with a full red seconds hand is absolute killer. Pairs best with White rubber or burgundy calf leather strap

Wow. I didn't expect the Secret Alloy to be that popular. So that means there are forty-eight-and-a-half others out there?!?

You are missing the point mate. There are only 4.95 black inks out there. Thats the real unicorn ...unless you account for 0.91 Orion Nebula “Cosmic Flame” which is for sure not for sale.

I'm not a big fan of the white rubber. I like the blue or grey rubber strap more. At least in pictures.

I love it on the white rubber, but must admit that would undermine the idea of an everyday all-year watch. In the summer it'd be fantastic, though, and you could wear it on bracelet the rest of the year.

Great review!

The watch itself has parts that I like a lot (movement), find quite nice (bracelet and case, minus the bezel), and others I find soso (dials and bezel). Agree there are similarities with the Vacheron 222 except for the bezel. Very nice watch overall, but it also leaves me a little cold. Among the new sports watches the Moser Streamliner looks more exciting in my eyes although the movement is less interesting there and it lacks the date.

I have yet to see a Streamliner in the flesh but it seems very impressive. I chose the Czapek as I tend to be a long-term buyer and I couldn’t help but suspect the Moser will date quite quickly. The dial, too, was too flashy for my tastes...

I totally understand why someone would choose the Moser though..

The name was given as the finish is the raw dial, usually hidden beneath paint or a coating. Hence ‘secret’ alloy...

Wish I saw this write up last year. Just went to the website and shows "0 pieces left" but then let's you pre-order.
Do you know if it's still possible to order? I think I need that glacier blue dial

Thanks guys. Fun to see the thread revived today after too much doom-scrolling about war...

My Antarctique with my dog, to cheer us all up in these unprecedented times.

I think so... The company's amazing to deal with, so I'm sure you'd get a definitive answer if you shot them an email.
